something that I haven't noticed anyone bring up: even though claire/aaron will eventually get on a helicopter, it won't happen at least until desmond can swim up to the surface and cross the island. everything in desmond's flashes are events he witnesses in person.

^^ codeine is a schedule III drug, which can be refilled.

Oxycodone is a schedule II drug, which cannot be refilled (a new prescription must be issued for each refill).

this is pretty simple...

he's tired of lying about not crashing on an unmapped island and not being able to talk about it with anyone...other than kate...who isn't taking most of his calls...

oceanic gave them gold passes to keep them quiet and avoid bad publicity

jack's super depressed and super lonely since he can't really connect with anyone he used to know and he's not allowed to be himself around new people

and lets just say kates with someone that's not on the island. if that were the case then essentially she's lying to him about who she is. and if he asks where she was when she's talking to jack then she's put between a rock and a hard place.

They probably figured after the trauma of surviving a plane wreck none of them would really want to fly again. Jack is going to single-handedly put them into bankruptcy, flying internationally for free every Friday
