Quote :
"RALEIGH, NC— Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that center Rod Brind’Amour will have reconstructive knee surgery after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee during the first period of Thursday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Dr. Marty Isbell will perform the procedure on Friday at Rex Hospital, and Brind’Amour is expected to be out of action for four to six months.

Also I should add that Andrew Ladd really needs to step it up. He was picked high in the draft and can become a goal scorer. He never scored a lot because he was never given the opportunity, well here it is. He better start producing.

Funny that you say that...last night Ladd looked like he's ready to pay the price it takes to play in front of the net on a regular basis.

I'm going to the Tuesday game. I am getting an extra Staal figurine and I have an extra Whitney figurine. I would like to trade either for a Brind'amour figurine.

I didn't mean he hasn't been playing well, just that here's his chance to show them what he's capable off. He was picked high in the draft to be a consistent goal scorer, and he hasnt really had the chance to do that since he's been on the 'grind line'. Now he's got a chance to score goals with so many forwards out.

I see what you're saying, but Ladd's always been projected as a net-crashing, "grind line"-type scorer, not a sniper.

^No we still have two lines of scoring

^^Maybe, he can def score in the grind situation. When he was on the grind line though they were sent to defend too, not necessarily score.

Also you don't draft a grinder with the 4th over all draft pick, you get a goal scorer or play maker. You got remember before he got drafted he had way more assists than he did goals. he can definitely set up a play.

^^ In my opinion... we probably shouldn't.

In JR's opinion...

I don't necessarily think we should go after a rental, either. At this point, we've been dealt the injury card pretty harshly, and it seems like it will be up to the rest of the team to make their season. I certainly don't think we should spend any picks on a rental, and I don't think we can afford to lose anyone else from the team.

I guess we just pray that Cullen gets healthy, Staal steps up even more than he has, and that we get healthy enough to compete.

THESE IS THE TIMES

mo' fucka!

or Chris Terry?

seriously though, fuck it, let's see Sutter

I'm missing the 2/19 and 2/23 games, damnit!

I'm not in favor of renting a player. For once, we shouldn't deplete the cupboard since we're a bit thin on young talent anyway.

^^Agreed, and I think unless you're one of the top 4 teams to make the Stanley Cup finals and win it all, you shouldn't hurt your future either.

Cullen back in a regular practice jersey! Could even play tonight. Looks like Eaves is probably going to make his debut tonight, and Corvo and Gleason have a chance at returning as well. Going to miss the game sadly.
