NC State has been recruiting with the top talent in the country for a while now. Herb landed several 5 star players and Lowe has already landed 2 himself. I don't know whats so unrealistic about us going from top 25 talent to top 10 talent. Rumor has it that Harris had us involved with several top prospects that Herb never got involved with for whatever reason....but keeping harris on staff was huge.


But if you look at this year alone and the players we're recruiting...NC State was one of the first schools to recruit John Wall. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost positive about that....secondly....we've recruited the fuck out of Atlanta. Is it that surprising that we had a connection to D. Favors regardless of him being ranked #1? While recruiting him we've also landed Hickson, Brown, Howell, and Harrow from atlanta. Its not surprising at all, and it actually all fits together.


Lowe tried to get John Wall to commit before he was a top 50 prospect. Does that sound shady?

We had 7 Top150 recruits on the roster last year. We hardly lacked the raw talent. I can't remember a time in the past where we had that many highly rated recruits on the roster at one time personally in my time as a State fan. It hurt that of those 7, not a single could effectively play the 1.

Lowe isn't really recruiting any better than post-2000 Sendek did yet... of course, if Wall AND Favors commit it would be the best class we've ever had... but that hasn't happened yet.

We were also the first to tell him he wasn't an ACC calibre player his sophmore year in high school (Which is partially why the Cliftons hate Herb/Larry Harris/NC State). In their defense, they said this to him back when Wall was a total headcase and before he turned into a dominant PG

I thought the reason we were having trouble with Wall was b/c we didn't offer one of the Clifton's a scholarship (Herb/Harris).

It doesn't make sense that we would tell a sophmore in high school he's not ACC caliber. Maybe a senior, but not a young kid.

I know that has a lot to do with it. He supposedly holds a grudge against all of the Big 4 for not offering him a scholarship. (Dwon Clifton, that is)

Alot of people have also said the big hill NC State, in particular, had to climb with Wall was that the previous staff told Wall he wasn't an ACC calibre player (In particular, Larry Harris). As far as telling that to a sophmore.... I think it's pretty evident how these players will develop at that point. It may be premature to say you wont play in a league, but how many sophmores (CJ Leslie) do you see committing to bigtime programs? Recruiting starts early these days, as you know. It's definitely plausible they told Wall that

^I can't imagine Larry Harris telling that to John Wall. Harris is still on staff and is our #1 Recruiter (Hickson, Fells, etc). Dwon Clifton was not an ACC-calibre player. Hell, he didn't even last at Clemson when they were shitty.

Our main problem with Wall is the fact he wants to "run" (up-tempo for some of you tww'ers) for a team on the national stage.

I honestly think Baylor was a front to get his buddy/AAU coach, Dwon Clifton a job. He also went to a NIKE Camp out there.

IMO, It all comes down to if he feels he can run/get exposure at home with NC State, or if he needs to go somewhere like Kansas or Memphis. He really may like NCSU, but if we suck ass again this year and have trouble pushing the ball... Who can blame him for going somewhere else?

i don't know too much about the cousins situation, but i'd say right now there might be a 20% shot of him coming here. (purely a guess). i'd say the favors situation is somewhere around 45% chance right now which will only get better if we can get wall to commit or have a better season than GT. i think we lead for wall, i don't have any real way to back it up but i think we probably land him.

I'd say Favors goes to Georgia Tech(75% shot). Callipari visited Cousins the other day, but I heard that our staff has also visited and feels good about our chances. That being said I feel like we are sitting in third place for Cousins right now behind UAB and Memphis. If Memphis lands Cousins and has a scholarship spot left I think you can say bye bye to John Wall who has previously expressed interest in playing with Cousins or X Henry in college. Memphis landing Cousins would give Wall an easy selling point to come play with both of those guys and win a national championship. If Cousins ends up staying at UAB I like our shot with Wall, and if we were to somehow land Cousins I would say we are a lock to land Wall. I wouldn't get your hopes up quite yet though as the Cousins situation is a recent development so there are still a lot of teams getting involved.
