I've got some light bleed on mine.... It's really only one side that's affected, but it's kinda bad when you're in the dark and looking at a dark screen.

I'll probably wait a couple weeks for them to get replacements and try to swap it at Apple.

about the ipad2 cover/stand. when it's in the stand mode, it looks like it very easily topple forward and you'd end up with a smashed screen. does anybody have one or played around with one yet that can verify this??

^^^ I have the smart cover and it isn't the most stable thing in the world when in the upright position. I love the cover but really miss the stability of the book-style case that I used to have. It hasn't fallen over or anything but it would be much easier to knock over with a slight touch. It really sucks because it's perfect for me otherwise.

Question: Say I have the iPhone version of a Beejive/other paid app, then get an iPad which has an iPad specific version of the app.

Does the App Store block me from downloading the iPhone version on the iPad or does it just show both in the App Store?

^^ Yea I know, my dad has the 3g version through Verizon so it was 600.

I dislike apple as a whole, but the ipad is definitely the best tablet right now. I just don't see myself needing a tablet when I could get a netbook cheaper.

You don't really buy a tablet because you NEED it. I didn't need a netbook and I rather dislike them. I wanted something primarily for consumption. The iPad (and other tablets) fits that model very well while still allowing me to get work done if needed (I can remote in to my desktop and do a quick cad drawing whereas most netbooks can't run my cad software well enough to be really useable). Basically it's something that you buy because you want it. After that is when you may find yourself not needing or wanting your netbook/laptop/desktop much anymore or when you find that you are not a tablet user and still need that traditional form factor or software all the time.

You definitely want to watch it when it's in it's stand mode. The smart cover, as a whole, is pretty blah though. It works, but the height it leaves things at is less than stellar.

I got a leather case that has a built in smart cover basically. I tried using it once for the folding and hated the positioning, but I do like the magnets turning it on automatically.

i just got a 3G + WiFi 32gb White ipad 2

I had the ipad 1 for about a month when it came out last year -- didn't really feel like it was worth keeping, but for some reason im really digging this version. Guess my typical usage of computers has changed

anyway, the white looks slick.......black lends itself better to making the screen look seamless, but I thought i'd mix it up this time

Don't know if anyone else uses it but Remember the Milk finally came out with an iPad app today. Seems like a pretty good interface so far (I like it more than the iPhone app).

anyone know of an PDF viewer app with translation dictionaries? that's probably not the correct term, but i want to be able to read PDFs that are in german, tap a word i don't know, and have the english translation pop up.

Just got my Logitech Keyboard Case (http://www.zagg.com) and thought I'd share my initial thoughts.

Pretty awesome, and gives the iPad that "more like a laptop" feeling.

Pros:

* Pretty easy to setup/use. Very intuitive
* Very slim when in the case - adds very little (1/8" if I remember correctly) width
* Feels very sturdy - very well built

Cons:

* Keyboard is cramped (I have large hands, but surprisingly it isn't THAT bad, and should only get better the more I use it)
* Price - $100 is a little steep, but since I will use it for work to take notes in meetings, felt it was justified

Normally I wouldn't make a thread like this, but quite honestly, just wanted to test out the keyboard a bit.

Final Verdict: I recommend this product
