It's quite simple: noone payed any attention when they were #2. Also, thanks to the Big Tenleven nonsense Ohio St. and Michigan St. can win out and not play each other. Both will probably slip up at some point though.

I just hope they don't both win out and end up at the top of the polls. Noone wants an all Big Ten National Championship because they don't have a real conference championship.
