not gonna argue with that. that's the general theme in the District of Columbia, though.

I don't know. Ron Paul got an electoral vote.

Naturally the HRC fans in their echo-chamber "dont know of any shady shit" from the wikileaks email... give me a break.

If you think wikileak news headlines influenced the election, imagine having the entire liberal media establishment against you 24/7.

John "Spirit Cooking" Podesta and the Clintons don't seem to have much of a grasp on this "information security" thing. What do the (c)s on documents stand for again???

"Now, with that out of the way, I'm positive that Russia tried to undermine our election......but so what? Of course they did. They're a major power in the world. We do the same thing to other countries ALL THE TIME. We undermine democratically elected governments and install pro-business puppets all the time. This is pretty standard intelligence community games."

Bingo. We do this shit all the time, and it's OK. Somebody does it to us? Back the fuck up, that's not fair!!!

Quote :
"i cannot accept "so what" as a viable answer to another country influencing our electoral process. if we start saying "so what" to that, what else won't we care about in another 12 or 24 months?"

So, maybe we should stop fucking with other the elections in other countries, don't ya think? JHC is right: we are far too involved in fucking without other countries to try and claim any high road in this.

This is not a "that's not fair" situation.

The U.S. has been heavily involved in many elections and had done an amazing amount of awful shit to political processes all over the planet. It's pretty shitty.

What blows my mind is no one on the right seems to care that Russia did this. People are still losing their fucking minds over Benghazi but this gets the ol' shoulder shrug.

4 years ago Romney said Russia was a problem and the left LOLed at him. THEN all we fucking heard from the right was how dumb liberals were and that Russia was a threat. WTF HAPPENED TO THAT SHIT?!

It's like we live in god damn bizzaro world and we keep switch sides on issues. freaky friday.

What blows my mind is that no one on the left cares that the DNC rigged its own primary.

I'm not surprised that no one in either party gives a shit about this stuff, really. At this point, it's all about power. We learned that when both parties dog-piled on Snowden after all their anti-big-brother rhetoric throughout the years.

Seriously who are you taking to? Plenty of people are pissed.

BUT the primary being screwed with internally does not equal the actual election being screwed with by Russia. Don't be an idiot.

No one important, then. As it stands, I see few, if any, posts on my social media feeds expressing outrage at the DNC from ANY of my progressive/liberal friends (and I have a pretty good mix). Instead, they are just parroting the OMFG RUSSIA HACKED US!!! talking points. Hell, I don't see anyone on here railing against it, except for face/Eman or whatever troll is doing that. But Shrike sure is worked up about Russia

Again, Russia's involvement is a bigger concern to most people. I'm not sure why that's hard to imagine.

If you're getting your political discourse mainly from your Facebook feed (which apparently you consider 'important') kindly see your way right the hell out of any thread discussing politics.

^^ Which I think is pretty startling. Hard evidence of the DNC rigging a primary matters less than some outside actor showing hard evidence of the DNC rigging a primary. Do I think Russia messing around over here is a problem? Sure. But I think rigging a primary is more important.

^ Of course I'm not doing that. But it's a good way to know what people are talking about, at a minimum. Got any more deflections for me?

I didn't deflect, I made a point. If you're not seeing outrage from liberals (not Democrats) about the way Sanders was railroaded then you need to expand your political sphere. Naturally it doesn't get headline news, but then again neither does Flint anymore.

I saw some of that outrage then. I don't see it any more. And all of the "outraged" fell in line and became Hillary supporters. Now, the only thing they are talking about is Russia.

You'd be hard pressed to find Bernie supporters that actually became Hillary supporters. What you will find are liberals voting for Clinton to keep Trump out of the White House.

Quote :
"But despite the decisions that the Obama administration made that might have helped Elkhart, many people here have a strong dislike of Obama, who presided over an economic recovery in which the unemployment rate fell nationally to 4.6 percent from a high of 10 percent in October 2009. They say it’s not Obama who is responsible for the city or the country’s economic progress, and furthermore, that the economy won’t truly start to improve until President-elect Donald Trump takes office."

Quote :
"Indeed, as the economy began improving, Elkhart voters grew less likely to support Democratic candidates for president. Obama won 44 percent of the vote in Elkhart County in 2008, 36 percent in 2012, and Clinton received just 31 percent in 2016."

Quote :
"But in Elkhart, people have jobs they didn’t have six years ago, and they’re working more hours. Their homes are worth more than they were before Obama took office, on average, and their paychecks are fatter than they used to be. Yet Obama is, and will likely remain, the president who didn’t do anything right."

Remember though folks, this was all about economic anxiety. Sigh.

Lettuce see your data.

I am one of your allegedly rare Bernie turned HRC supporters.

Because that's how it works. I'd be interested in seeing outliers, but I can't imagine there's many.

Regardless of obamacare being a failure or not, watching republicans fix it without pissing off the poor white base will be interesting.

Fix it? You can't "fix" something you've called a monstrosity and a disaster for years. The dilemma Republicans have now is they've lied so much about Obamacare that they've painted themselves into a corner. They have to repeal it or face an epic backlash from voters whom they've convinced that it's "worse than the Holocaust". Of course the problem is it's not any of those things. It's actually a pretty standard government benefits program that's mostly managed to accomplish all its goals despite unprecedented levels of obstruction and outright attempted sabotage by Republicans. When they repeal it they'll have to face the consequences of tearing away healthcare from 20-30 million Americans and throwing the entire industry into crisis. What Democrats need to do is avoid the temptation of throwing them a lifeline by passing some half cocked replacement or bailout that only serves to mitigate the damage. Let them hang themselves.

I suppose that this shouldn't come as much of a surprise, but I found it interesting that the three precincts within the Raleigh/Cary area that went to Donald Trump were all country club locations: Carolina Country Club, North Ridge Country Club and MacGregor Downs Country Club.
