Jrb do you know something or are you just talking out of your ass like 99% of the people on these threads?
And BigEgo although not likely, there is a shot we could miss out on all 3 of these guys. These are big time talents with lots of people in there ear. There is no telling what is going on behind the scenes and what could happen. We are only the favorite to get one of these guys, and even with Wall it is anything but a done deal.

I hope we land one - at least for Sid's sake. The media and our impatient fanbase will run him out of town if we don't get one of these guys while UNC has another record breaking class 12/4/2008 8:26:20 PM |

^ That would be really stupid seeing as we already have a really impressive class coming in without those guys. Expecting a coach to out recruit UNC when we finished last in the ACC is unrealistic, and giving the circumstances our class is already way ahead of expectations. I am not saying we won't land anyone, I'm just saying don't get your hopes up. There about 4 other schools that think they are going to land any one of these guys too. Unfortunately only one of those schools will actually be right for each kid so lets just see what happens. 12/4/2008 8:54:35 PM |

mehhh, I mean it could potentially be very beneficial to our program, but with the guys we have coming in, we're not goin to be that bad,; or maybe so, but Sidney's future at NC State depends his ability to coach imo. other teams have done alot better with alot less talent. 12/4/2008 10:48:57 PM |

You people act like we don't already have a great class locked up for 2009.
We don't even need john wall. We actually NEED favors or cousins for another big, but it ain't the end of the world.
Personally, I'd like to see a situation where we bring in the guys for next year, have a good season, see them stick around for another year, and throw the 2010 guys in with them and see what happens. If we fucking run off Lowe before that happens, especially over not landing the top players in the country for gods sake, I'm going to fucking murder our fanbase.

We don't need you stupid wet blankets to tell us the obvious. The fact of the matter is that landing wall and favors would be game-changing, and people are justifiably excited about it. (Game-changing in that you could talk final four or national championship without being embarrassed).
How about you people just STFU and let people manage their own expectations.

I actually like how Sid is running his offense this year. Well, at least for the past two games, but you can tell things have changed. He just needs players that will run the type of offense he wants to run.
Players that can: Smith, McCauley, CJ (probably), Javi, Fells Players that can't: Horner, Costner, Ferg, Harris Undetermined: Degand and Thomas (they're both basically crippled), and Mays
More than half the team doesn't fit the mold of Sid's game. Of course, a really good coach can use his current players' talents to produce a successful team, but he's new to the college coaching world. That said, if Coach Harris and Lowe can get these high caliber athletes that like to play pro-style ball, we might have some good years ahead of us. Whether or not we get the players needed to play Sid's game, a couple of more years at the bottom of the ACC and he'll be packing his bags. 12/4/2008 11:50:55 PM |

1993 Michigan did.....2005 UNC was pretty much Felton, May, McCants all the same class that put them over the top. They were all 3 top 10 or so recruits.12/5/2008 1:32:59 AM |

bahahaha you are an idiot if you think Simon Harris cant run the offense Sid wants him to run.
he is one of the most athletic kids on the team.
this aph guy is an idiot...and Javi? Javi cant run a transition break...he has shown that many many times...hes a slow it down start it up kind of guy...not to mention Ferg is one of the better transition spot up shooters on the team.
I hope you are trolling. 12/5/2008 8:34:16 AM |

One class can really reshape a program.
I think the Oden class really helped pull tOSU to the lime-light in basketball and they have been landing top-flight recruits since then.
So potentially we get a powerful class and have a good season and it could do wonders for the program, especially if they see these 1-and-done guys going and getting high draft spots. Such as JJ coming here, having a solid season on a bad team, and still going pretty high in the draft. 12/5/2008 9:31:32 AM |

Not more reputable sources....we just had our class locked up before the big names committed somewhere. There are really only a handful of guys uncommitted right now that the first signing day is over.
We will end up in the top 5 with any of cousins, favors, or wall though.12/5/2008 1:42:28 PM |

Top 5 with anyone of those guys. No. 1 with Wall and Favors/Cousins. That would really irritate the Heels if we unseated their "No. 1 All-World Best Class Ever". 12/5/2008 2:12:25 PM |

Bingo. McCauley is a senior, Costner is a junior and prefers the perimeter, Tracy Smith is a solid power forward but not a dominating big man, and nobody else comes close to being a low-post threat.
That is what makes landing Cousins/Favors a priority. That said... landing Wall would be awesome any way look at it 12/5/2008 3:18:22 PM |

is it possible to land all 3? making a 6-man class?
# of scholarships is already an issue, so i dont think a 6th one is possible unless we force someone to give theirs up. I understand we have 4 available, with the possibility of a few more with players leaving early or transfering.
how great would this roster look: Sr Horner Sr Ferguson Sr Degand Jr Smith Jr Gonzalez So Williams So Mays Fr Brown Fr Howell Fr Wood Fr Wall Fr Cousins Fr Favors
