Robert Morris has an invitation to the Big Dance for the first time since 1992.

While the big time college basketball programs, with their large arenas, is what most people think about when they think about college basketball, the little programs with their small gyms that are slightly larger than most high school gyms is the more common and pure form. A good majority of those students that rushed the court know each other and this is probably the highlight of their college athletics experience. The players don't have NBA aspirations or are being wooed by sports agents.

Shit is getting real in the Cuse/Hall game.

I'm glad that that punk Devendorf got a hand in the face after he hit that girl. Karma is paying him back.

I honestly didn't think that was an Intentional foul. Shit, he got mostly ball... If the play on the other end didn't happen it would have been no reaction.

you're out of your damned mind

that is the definition of "intentional"

did he go for the ball? yes

was the intentionally trying to foul dude to make sure he didn't make the shot? absolutely

I think it looked worse than it was. He did get mostly ball, but how he came down tomahawk style and didn't even leave his feet made it look like he was just trying to pull the guy down, which may have been his intentions. Who really knows what is going on in these guys heads.

Did anyone else think that block by Onuaku (sp?) just a little bit ago was goaltending?

Eh, just intensity this game... though Devo is a douchebag.

Shit, I'm sure plenty of people think Javi is a "thug" after his post game comment about Vasquez.

Well it is the Big East. It's a pretty physical league, and I think it's b/c of the nature of the players that come from that region. The mid-Atlantic region is known for their players being hardened on rough playgrounds in places like Philly, NYC, etc.

The ACC seems to be more of a finesse league focused on skill and athleticism, not to say that there isn't athletic players in the Big East. They obviously have a lot of good athletes too.

Shit, I'm sure plenty of people think Javi's a punk, because he is. He plays with a chip on his shoulder, and with as much passion as anyone on the team

I think plenty will appreciate his comment directed at Vasquez... given the circumstances.

I swear that when I watch Devondorf it's like seeing Melchioni in a Syracuse jersey. I just want to reach through the screen and strangle him.

Javi though doesn't act classless after he makes a shot. He lets his play talk for him. The battle between Javi and Greivis tomorrow is going to be interesting to watch.

not sure which thread to put this in, but figure the regular contributors to this thread would know best:

had a discussion with one of my friends last night regarding jack mcclinton. his view: likely not drafted, too small to be a decent contributor in the nba. my view: late second round pick or so, but has enough of a competitive fire and is enough of a clutch shooter to make a roster and see regular PT (was thinking along the lines of eddie house, or a slightly smaller not-quite-as-good ben gordon). obviously he's not gonna be a starting SG in the nba, waaay too small. but if he works on his playmaking skills (for OTHERS), he could be a back-up PG/instant energy guy. i've just been too impressed with him the past few years to think he won't be playing at the next level.

what do y'all think??

The Marquette Nova game is pretty good. Nova down by one and travels under the basket with 40 seconds left.

With the Syracuse/UConn game seen today, I fear March Madness may have prematurely peaked.

Here's hoping to further insanity in tournaments, both conference and national.

I'm sorry, but I cannot stand traveling.

I think the third play they show in the video, he dribbles once after he crosses half court, how is that not traveling?

Why is Brain Game on, and not Memphis/Tulsa. I really wanted to see this Memphis team play, not acne faced highschoolers answer questions about Donkey Kong.

^It's on WRAL's subchannel, TWC 256 or over the air 5.2.

I don't understand why they can't pick up the game and switchover to the ACC coverage even if the game isn't over. Might piss off like 5 people watching it but its already on this subchannel, where people who want to see the Big 10 tournament will have to watch it.

That would probably require Clemson winning a NCAA Tournament game or two, which obviously isn't happening.

Big East will have 3 of the four #1 seeds though.

did Seth really just have ASU as a #4?!?!

that's a bit generous even if they do win the PAC10

5 or 6 is more realistic

I don't imagine the Big 10 lasting too long in the tournament*, nor do I see anybody but the top three of the Big East and the ACC really lasting long from the Big 6.

It will be an interesting tournament. Maybe Cleveland State will win it all and Ohio basketball back to its glory days (1960-62).

*:carl face: if a Big 10 team wins it all.
