Nobody is saying he isn't a great OC, but being a great OC isn't at all the same as being a good head coach. Now you could certainly argue that he shouldn't have been fired at Ole Miss, but I'm skeptical he would have turned it around had he been given another year or two...they were clearly on a downward spiral when he was fired and I think Eli overshadowed some of his deficiencies as a head coach much like Rivers overshadowed CTC's.]8/14/2009 2:16:12 PM |

Southern Pigskin (go ahead and hate) has been doing a "Perfect Ten" Series which highlights the 10 best players at each of the ACC and SEC schools since 1975 and this is ours:
Quote : | "1. Philip Rivers, QB (2000-2004) - Had arguably the best career of any quarterback in ACC history, breaking almost every league passing record and finishing his career second in career yards nationally and eighth in career touchdown passes. Holds the NCAA record for most yards per passing attempt. Rivers was a four time bowl game MVP and was the ACC Athlete of the Year in 2004.
2. Ted Brown, RB (1975-1978) - Finished his career as the ACC's all-time leading rusher with 4,602 yards. Brown was a four-time All-ACC selection and a consensus first-team All-American in 1978. His 251 yards against Penn State was a single game record as well.
3. Jim Richter, OG (1976-1979) - The 1979 Outland Trophy Award winner, Richter had a standout All-American career for the Wolfpack. In 1998, Richter was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame.
4. Torry Holt, WR (1995-1998) - Set a league record his senior season with 88 receptions for 1,604 yards and 16 touchdowns. Had 1,099 yards receiving a junior. Holt was the ACC Offensive Playerof the Year in 1998 and was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award.
5. Jerricho Cotchery, WR (2000-2004) - Set school records with 200 career receptions and 15 career 100-yard games. Is one of the most productive receivers in ACC history. Caught at least one pass in 39 straight games.
6. Levar Fisher, LB (1998-2001) - One of the most productive tacklers in ACC history, Fisher totaled 492 stops and 12 sacks during his career. The two-time first-team All-ACC selection and 2001 All-American lead the nation his senior season with 15.1 tackles per game. The ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2000.
7. Mario Williams, DE (2003-2005) - Compiled 40.5 tackles for loss and 20.5 sacks in his career, overwhelming tackles with his rare combination of size and athleticism. Williams had a monster junior season which propelled him to the number one overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft.
8. Terrence Holt, S (1999-2002) - Torry's little brother, Terrance had a stellar career on both defense and special teams. Set the career record for tackles by a defensive back at NC State with 315 and is the ACC's career leader with 12 blocked kicks.
9. Marc Primanti, K (1993-1996) - The 1996 Lou Groza Award Winner, Primanti did not miss a field goal as a senior. He converted on 20 of 20 attempts, in addition to 24-24 extra points. For his career, he was 31-33 on field goals.
10. Jesse Campbell, S (1988-1990) - A three-time All-ACC honoree, Campbell recorded seven career interceptions and 30 career pass break ups to go along with 269 tackles and 22 tackles for loss. Earned All-American honors in 1989 and 1990. " |

true but not definite.
if you want to pick up tickets on game day either get their early and find some regular joe trying to sell extras, and probably at face value. or come anytime and potentially pay 2-3 times face value from a scalper.8/15/2009 8:29:07 AM |

^^Not always true. There was one game I didn't have tickets for and had to arrive late because of work. I was walking to the stadium at the end of the first quarter. I tried 2 separate guys selling tickets and both of them wanted about face value. I offered them like $15 as the game would be near halftime by the time I got to my seat and they were both jerks about it... 8/15/2009 9:37:24 AM |

I went to the game @Duke in P.Riv's senior year. There were a bunch of professional scalpers who wouldn't part with their tickets for less than $50 apiece. Then some Duke fan walked up to me and gave me a bunch of tickets for free. 8/15/2009 2:15:07 PM |

It is crazy that the top 10 of our players doesn't include krob. If he hadn't gone pro, he would have broken all of holt's records. Imagine another year of rivers to krob, would have been nuts. And that doesn't even take into account hsu return skills... 8/16/2009 1:10:48 PM |

I hope we win (by a lot), obviously, but they've still done a service to society by inspiring a lot of good-looking girls to wear shirts reading "I LOVE COCKS" 8/16/2009 10:32:58 PM |

We sell 5K to visiting teams, and they'll be another 3-5K from others such as ebay, stub hub, and the like because our fans are notorious for not ponying up. The Ohio State game in 2004 had to easily the most embarassing experience at Carter Finley Stadium I've ever witnessed. They had 15K fans there, absolutely no joke, I saw plenty of 4-8 person Buckeye strands between the 40s. I'm just glad they wore red, or scarlet, point is, it didn't look to bad from TV I would guess, but it let me know just how far behind we were/are.
