Despite what Yahoo says about Calvin Johnson, Mlive.com and other Detroit area newspapers are reporting that the chances are extremely high that Megatron will play this weekend.
If so, he's a must start against the Seahawks. It's a late game though, so have some options around. 11/5/2009 1:44:39 PM |

Greg Jennings against Tampa Bay
Donald Driver has missed practice all week, TB secondary is deplorable
Cincy's Defense is the real deal and have been shutdown corners to #1 WR's this year.

word I had no idea driver missed all week.
I also have Mason in my other league. So the question is who would you put in for him?
Chris Chambers or Andre Caldwell

so if driver has missed all week, and finley has missed all week
and Spencer Havner has has caught 3 tds from their spots in two weeks
i should probably play him in one of my IDP slots? (he's listed as a LB on yahoo)

I think Pierre has the tougher match up on paper but we all now that NO is going to be seeing the red zone a lot on Sunday and he stands a real good shot of scoring on the Panthers IMO
I think I am going to start Flacco over Romo as mentioned before. Dallas doesn't feel right, and on top of that, the Eagles beat the hell out of 'em in Philly last year. Romo's 3 straight games of good play is about to come an end.
Who should I start between:
first position:
Maclin vs Dallas Nicks vs SD Megatron @ Sea
second position:
Mendenhall @ Den McCoy vs Dallas 11/5/2009 9:09:53 PM |

Stingray, I'd probably go with Thomas.
Hard to say Ribs, you should probably go with Calvin if he's actually playing. and Mendenhall?
hmm, which D should I start?
San Fran vs Tenn Denver vs Pitt Chicago vs Ari
I'm tempted to go with Chicago, since they've been putting up good D stats in recent weeks (against weak competition) Warner has been throwing a good number of INTs. Tennessee is hard to gauge too... will VY be exposed by SF?
help me out here folks 11/6/2009 2:40:17 PM |
DalCowboys All American 1945 Posts user info edit post |
I'd go with Chicago, SF could expose VY but you never know if Johnson is going to go off. Also SF has not looked too good outside of the division (0 wins). I know they only let up 18 to the Colts, but I think the Colts looked past them a bit. 11/6/2009 2:55:23 PM |
Panthro All American 7333 Posts user info edit post |
I'd actually look for SF to have the best game of that bunch.
Arizona will be playing a more conservative game this week to limit turnovers, according to a few of their beat writers. Look for more protection with a TE staying back in, shorter routes and check downs.
San Fran was not "being looked past" by Indy. I was watching that game. Their D was outstanding. They are going to put an immense amount of pressure of VY this weekend, which will likely force him into at least 2 INT's and a few sacks. SF is decent at stopping the run, so if they can contain CJ, I really like SF's defense this week. 11/6/2009 3:49:20 PM |

Play Kevin Smith.
Question regarding a couple players here:
I have a Rb/WR and two WR spots I need to fill, who would you play?
Randy Moss vs Mia (penciled in to start) Austin Collie vs Hou TJ Houshmandzadeh vs Det Torry Holt vs KC Ryan Moats vs Indy.
I'm thinking Moats, Moss, and Housh, but would just like some other input 11/8/2009 10:24:13 AM |

I can pick up Alex Smith (against Tennessee) in both of my leagues.
In one league I have Matt Schaub.
In the other I have Eli and Matt Ryan.
Is picking up Alex Smith a worthwhile gamble over these guys, who have all had mediocre weeks recently? 11/8/2009 10:25:08 AM |

^^ I would say no. Cortland Finnegan came back last week for Tennessee and he makes their secondary much better. Only gave up 13 points to Jax. I think you should stick with what you have.
^ K. Smith if he goes. My guess is they are still trying to send a message to Slaton and he will at worst split carries with Moats.
Is Calvin Johnson worth a go this week if he plays? My current starters are:

Almost anytime you are getting more players than you are recieving, you are losing quality. You are basically trading two starters for a starter and two flex options. 11/8/2009 11:06:15 AM |

The Bronoco's haven't allowed a WR to get more than 90 yards all season...
BUT...
Atlanta's D is going to absolutely hammer the Redskins and put endless pressure on Campbell.
I like Holmes with a big play and a TD this week.

^^ Yes, Start Megatron.
Seattle is 19th ranked in the NFL against the pass. He may not catch a deep pass, but he is going to be very active over the middle, given Seattle's loss of Tatupu and other defensive injuries. 11/8/2009 11:58:57 AM |

I also have Breaston.
With Boldin out should he replace any of the 3 mentioned? Only one I would think about would probably be Marshall.
Marshall has potential for huge game but Breaston usually more consistent game to game. 11/8/2009 12:07:56 PM |
