I just want us to win the games we should win, and 50% of the games where its even/the other team is favored.

man if only russell wilson were here. he always beat up maryland and clemson with ease.

same with amato and ocain and dick sheridan. they always beat the hell out of those teams and we were going to acc championships year after year after year.

hell you can't even count on one hand how many acc championships amato would have brought us if were allowed to stay.

One day we'll look back and have a conference record that's just south of .500 in football and your big dream will be realized.

Don't forget the complete lack of discipline. Amato was very much NCSU's version of Butch. Looks like he has a great team on paper but has absolutely no control over the team.

do you guys get a high off of totally ignoring the fact that we were 1 game from getting into the ACC championship for the first time in more than several decades last season?

i guess when you absolutely hate a guy and are openly rooting for us to lose to maryland simply to fire a coach.... its beyond possibility to 'regain support' no matter the results

And it was our healthiest season.

As far as drinking the haterade, I've not done it because, simply enough, I would never be able to do the things Coaches Amato or O'Brien have done with the team.

And I like the discipline TOB has instilled into the team compared to the aaronburro-penalty-flag days of Chuck the Chest.

Don't sugarcoat anything. There were SEVERAL times including under amato where we were within 2 games of winning the conference.

we were one game from the acc championship GAME which is another game between you and the championship. we were two games away from the championship. The Maryland game was the first of the two. Despite what you may think, we would not have been awarded a championship for beating maryland last year.

We had several opportunities in the previous decade to win a game and be within a game of winning the championship.

Bible had to take the governors off and actually get us out of 2nd gear and let Glennon throw, RBs run and catch and WRs do their thing. I kept thinking myself, just knowing we were going to come back, "where the fuck has this shit been all year?"

Pleased to eat crow. A blowout loss yesterday would have changed my mind about TOB given the opponent and what was at stake, getting behind badly temporarily did. I gotta give him credit for the comeback too. 7 wins this year is great, a bowl victory will be even better. if we can win 9 and 8 games in back to back years, you can't really argue that's not taking the program in the right direction.

You guys are too fickle. No one game should be able to completely change your opinion of a coach. I'm on the "give him another season" boat now but not because of this one game. Next year is going to have to be better. No more of this make a bowl and survive shit. Next year better be top 2 in the division or he (should be) out even though I know they won't fire him until he misses a bowl.

This hits it right on the heaed. Every other team in the nation comes out guns blazing and gives you their best football the entire game. We don't try to score unless the other team has already scored. We are the least agressive team of all time.

We did what we had to do to get to a bowl. Sorry that pisses you off so much. We left a little on the table, yes, but playing with a full team all year might have changed some of that. Fact is, we have a chance to win 8 games this year.

I really only think we could have improved the record by 1 game if things went "like they should have."

We beat Wake and BC.
We lose to Clemson.

8-4 instead of 7-5. I'm not that upset about it.

8-4 or better next year or it's time for TOB to retire. 6-6 or 7-5 isn't that difficult to do at NC State. If he we set the bar at a bowl game, he could go 7-5 for the next 5 years and never be on the hot seat. This has Herb Sendek potential. At least TOB beats UNC.

He's a Herb Sendek that beats UNC. If we're happy with winning the UNC Bowl and usually getting to a pizza or tire bowl, he's the guy. If we ever want to aspire for anything more, he isn't.

will South Alabama count as an FBS win next year? we've got The Citadel (FCS) also, but 2012 is South Alabama's final year before it becomes a full FBS program in 2013. hope we're not in this same situation again next year.

States they will still be a 1-AA next year. Reading their timeline, it looks like the win over them this year still would not have counted if we had played a 1-A team instead of Liberty since it says "counts as a D-1 game...towards FCS Championship eligibility"
