credit to wisconsin for being the better team, but I'll be goddamned if Ohio State didn't underperform tonight. Same story as a lot of games this year: no WR separation, OL can't dominate, DL not pressuring the other QB, but tonight, the talent disparity wasn't there that helped the Buckeyes win the first 5 games.

I think there is no question Oregon goes to number 1. Just a matter of if the pollsters finally move
Boise and TCU up or if they simply move Oklahoma and Auburn past them to make sure they dont get into the top 2 spots.

^i disagree with your assessment that Ohio State underperformed, they finally got tested on the road in a hostile situation. tOSU is a top 25 team, and they may well win out, but they haven't convinced me they were ever worthy of a #1 or #2 ranking

oh, I never thought that they're the best team in the country. I think they're top 10, but that's about it. They have no offensive identity, and their secondary is suspect.

For those talking about who #1 will be, from the looks of it Oregon will be #1 in the humans and Boise #1 in the computers and BCS. That will, of course, change as the season goes on.

Frankly, I'm hoping Boise stays undefeated and Nevada finishes with only 1-loss. I want to see Boise play in the MNC game. It will freak the fuck out the Big 10 and SEC fans, which is always funny. The complaining will be annoying, though.

Re: Ohio State. They are good, but frankly I think Boise will have the better win over an ACC team by the end of the season. Va Tech >>> Miami.

Oregon State losing last night didnt help Boise or TCU. Boise really needs to keep hoping Va Tech stays on a roll and wins the ACC that would really help their cause.

Also Nevada lost last night so that hurts a little.

http://bcsguru.blogspot.com/2010/10/secs-stranglehold-on-bcs-is-over.html

Agree? Disagree?

I like to think an undefeated Boise or TCU would get in ahead of a 1-loss Alabama who doesn't even play in the SEC title game but the SEC is like a collection of the best teams in the NFL, so I don't know...

*** Oklahoma? Really? Wow...

Quote :
"Kentucky coach Joker Phillips says he is re-evaluating his stance on allowing players to use the Twitter social network after remarks made by the Wildcats' star player in the wake of their come-from-behind victory Saturday over South Carolina.

Junior wide receiver Randall Cobb, who caught the game-winning touchdown pass from Mike Hartline late in the fourth quarter and scored on a two-point conversion to put UK ahead 31-28 with under two minutes to play, lashed out at the fan base via his Twitter account Sunday:

Wrote Cobb: "To all the fans: loved seein Yall come late, love hearing Yall tell us we suck during the game, love that we have to play against our own fans too! Love that we can’t pack the house when we play the #10 team in the nation. It means that much more to me. I love my team! Brotherhood they got my back n I got they back. The rest of Yall can get ready for bball season! Don’t say u support n do all those things! Yeah I’m level 9 pissed… so deal w it! Not blaming all but Yall know who I’m talking abt- Yall know I love #bbn but something needed to be said. "

Cobb subsequently removed the remarks from his page, but many users receive the info via text messages, and some UK fans responded that they didn't think it was right for the player to lump all of the fans into one group.

Phillips, who addressed the issue during his Sunday teleconference, chalked it up to a youthful mistake.

"Everybody understands and knows how passionate a player he is, how passionate about this game and his teammates, how passionate he is about the University of Kentucky's football program," Phillips said. "He's a 19- or 20-year-old kid who doesn't always understand how to deal when people react in a way that he doesn't think they should react. Me, I'm 47 years old, and I'm really just now figuring out how not to react to those things also.

"But Randall's a young, passionate player, and the reason why I think he's so successful is because he's so passionate about what he does... I think he'll be apologetic because he does care about the people in the locker room and he cares about the people across the state of Kentucky. It's obvious with all the things he does in the community. He loves this place. I really think he'll make this his home someday."

Several college coaches have banned their players from using Twitter during the season. Asked if he had considered a similar measure, Phillips said: "I've thought about it, too. I've thought about banning it.

"We'll continue to think about it and try to make a decision. One thing we've got to do is try to get our arms around it for sure... but I also want to give these guys a chance to express themselves, but not express themselves in a way that they might harm someone else. I don't want that. We've got to get a little bit smarter in doing it."
"

I don't necessarily disagree with it, but anyone at UK knows it will forever and always be a basketball school, despite playing SEC football. No chance of football ever eclipsing basketball in that state.

It's not like NC State where we're a football school (until week 6 usually) and then a basketball school (until January 15th) and then a football school again.

I would ban tweet from my players...but I wouldn't be mad if they said that to a newspaper reporter or something.

Tweet and facebook are too dangerous to the program. Kids that age aren't smart enough to know what they can and cannot say.

ESPN3 supposedly being rolled out October 25th on Timewarner. Nearly two months after they announced it, and over halfway through the season but better late than never I guess. Hopefully it works.

well, the fans pay to go to the games, and the players have a free-ride through college. so i think the fans have a little more room to talk shit, even if some "fans" are ridiculous.

ESPN's lineup of Thursday night games this year has been...strange.

State has two Thursday night home games, which may be an ACC scheduling issue (one is great, two is more of a hassle as far as taking time off work and abbreviated tailgates especially for fans from out of town.

Then they hit us with a West Coast game tonight starting at 9. Maybe I am just getting old, but while I am interested in a UCLA-Oregon game it's not worth staying up late when I have to head into work the next morning. Maybe if it was two top ten teams it might be different.

I'm kind of impressed that they got that game scheduled for 9pm. Since that's only 6pm out on the left coast then those fans who actually planned on working until 5 will have a hell of a time making it to the game for kickoff, especially if they actually want to eat any food in the interim.

No they should only think of the East Coast. I don't care where the game is being played.
