the JR Miller dude that runs that site is a huge loser, track his picks for a month like he suggests, he seems to be even worse than a coin flip. Most of the articles are sound (with one glaring exception - the one where he tries to disprove the kelly criterion), but he makes money off people who think he has nice articles and are too impatient to see how terrible he is at picking games, so they go ahead and buy his newsletter.

I got UNC -14.5 which was a no-brainer.

Then Indiana -2.5 @ Iowa - unless Hulaska can go off this should be a good bet.

Anything else? The ML haven't come out but I can an upset in the Louisville-Nova so I'm hoping for UL +240 or somewhere along those lines...

I do like the under at 151 though. Even if unc-ch scores 80 we would have to score more than 71 to cover the over.

I honestly can't see any scenario we lose by less than 15. They have us beat at every spot on the floor no matter who they rotate in. The only matchup that is even close is Fells and Terry...

The emotion of the rivalry will only have an impact if we start out strong. Frankly, after seeing the Duke game I'm not holding much hope for that...

This is one bet I'd love to lose though...

BEFORE YOU BET ON THE COLTS PLEASE READ

Please consider the following:


1) Vinitieri has a weak leg on kickoffs and Devin Hester is a huge threat on returns.

2) The Colts offense has struggled mightily in the red zone. They move the ball very well between the 20's because the defense has to respect the deep balls, but once they get in the red zone there is much less space for Peyton to pick apart the defense.

3) The Colts run defense STINKS. They have one guy who is a committed run stopper and he's a freaking safety. This guy also happens to have missed 90% of the season due to injury and got banged up two weeks ago against the Pats. Its not safe to assume that Bob Sanders is 100% or will even play the entire game.

4) Rex Grossman 75% of the time is a below average QB. 25% of the time he is MISERABLE. Everyone asssumes he BLOWS but 75% of the time he really doesn't.

5) Peyton Mannings thumb. Look when you hit a thumb on a helmet it usually breaks. Maybe Manning got lucky and his thumb isnt messed up that bad, but good lord he was throwing absolute ducks against the Patriots. Manning has the confidence of a third grade school girl in big games and having a thumb thats less than 100% is not going to help.

6) Brian Urlacher. So you're playing a team that likes to throw the ball a lot. It's a pretty nice luxury to have a linebacker who played safety in college and is nearly the fastest player on the field, right?

7) Thomas Jones. He is the classic overachiever. He's been disrespected his entire NFL career from being cut by the Cardinals and being named the backup this year despite coming off a great season. The Colts have yet to face a TOUGH* RB in the playoffs this year. He's not going to just run into the line and fall down like Jamal Lewis and Corey Dillon did.

*(I realize Larry Johnson is a great running back but as far as his character goes you cant say he's tough. He has got to be the biggest pussy in the league, I think the Chiefs have like 2 ast coaches dedicated to his special needs. Also, this game doesnt count because the Colts put 11 men on the line of scrimmage because Herm Edwards was too stupid to bench Trent Green for Damon Huard)



I think this is a 50/50 game. Do you really want to lay 6.5 points or -240 on a 50/50 game???

hell, we always play better as dogs so maybe vegas is just a bunch of wolfpack fans trying to make the spread as wide as possible.


im all over the pack at +10, but you're right... it does scare me. I would be more worried about @ Miami being more of a trap game than @ GT. GT is a good team and 2 with the game being so close to the Carolina game, we should still be high on intensity. That trip to MIA scares me more than a trip down to ATL.

Also really like Ohio State at -13 over Michigan.
