They just drop it into Funds Available for Trading. At the top, click "My Account". Then on the left, click "Account History". Tell it the time period (usually just All Available) and search - this will bring up everything that's happened in your account.

This is an example of what the dividend should look like:
10/25/2007 GE GENERAL ELECTRIC CO DIVIDEND ON 50 SHARES OF GE @ .28000 $0.00 $0.00 $14.00

I've got an account with a commodities trading company that has done alright. I'm curious as to whether or not anyone runs a similar operation trading currency.

It's with McVean trading. I take care of all of my stock stuff on my own and let them worry about commodities. Performance hasn't been overly spectacular. It jumped a lot when I first opened it ~2 years ago, but is only up about 10% right now.

Everything in my account is already in the market or I would have. I have $62 in cash in my Scottrade account -- not enough to do anything with and I don't have anything else to add to it. Oh well, there will always be another time.

I hate it when you have a few dollars left on your account, makes me want to add more money into the account.

Cisco hasnt really caught back up with the market as fast as some of its peer tech companies like google/apple/etc. I put a limit order in today to catch some of it again, as I think its a pretty good time to buy.

I feel the same way about CELG, apparently one of their heavy investors is getting involved with a competitor, nothing long term I would say, but this stock at it's current price seems like a go, bought the 50 call for July

I placed a market order this morning for CSCO while it was below 27.60. Next thing I know my order is processed as it jumped to 28.80 WTF. sure enough its already receded to 28.60. Guess its not a big deal since i am longing it but i basically paid a $14 surcharge. Thanks for nothing ShareBuilder.

I'm trying to decide now if i want to put $500 in GS or COP. If the federal funds rate stays level GS will drop possibly even if its only .25% decrease. I think COP is good for the long term. Good dividends, investment in new drilling sites, natural gas holdings, and less foreign oil dependency then other big oil companies.

When you place a market order, you're basically opening your wallet and telling the MM "Take what you need." Always go limit, especially on the day the FOMC is making an announcement

hahaha...you're pissed at ShareBuilder, but you don't know what a market order is.

Anyways,

A limit order allows you to set a maximum buy price or minimum sell price on a stock.

For example, this morning you could have placed a limit buy for CSCO at $27.60. This means that your order will go through if a buyer can be found at or below $27.60. In practice, it essentially means that your order will go through only if the market value falls below $27.60.

If you put in a limit buy on CSCO at $27.60 today, your order would still be sitting there. CSCO opened up at $27.84 and hasn't been below $27.80 all day.

The drop isn't because the Fed cut rates. It's because they didn't cut rates as much as some wanted.

In a situation like today, all the "experts" were calling for a .25 point cut, and it happened, problem in this scenario, is that one person spots another going for the door, and then the dominos start to fall and CNBC is all "recession" and then everyone heads for the door and people get stopped out. Everyone was calling for the .25 cut, and that's what happened, shows you what sentiment can do, especially when it has nothing to do with logic

Picked up 5 shares of GS to go along with me 4 shares of goog. w00t

On a sidenote I still think its stupid when people don't buy a stock because its expensive. I don't really see a difference between buying 100 shares of stock x for $1000 vs 4 shares of stock y for $1000.

i like it and own a bunch of it. take that with a grain of salt thought -- i'm addicted to my crackberry and any opinion of mine from an end user perspective is usually fickle. i didn't buy AAPL for the longest time because their products never appealed to me. i may fall out of love with the crackberry when IT upgrades me to the newer model which doesn't have the rolly-push button on the side.

^

Rally faded on BoA, Wachovia and Sallie Mae warnings. My best estimation is that there will be significantly more pain going into the New Year.

We are likely to hear bad things in the coming weeks or months from WaMu, CountryWide and others. At one point Countrywide was suggesting they would be profitable in Q4. I don't see how that is possible at this point.

Given the strong possibility that WaMu is going to see its cost of credit reach into junk range I think there are some legitimate questions about long-run solvency. Remember that just a month or so ago WaMu was saying publicly that the dividend was safe, now we are looking at a 75% cut.

Furthermore, retails sales number for Nov. were inflated on an early Thanksgiving. I haven't seen a lot of talk about this in the financial press which means that Dec. warnings are likely to catch some people by surprise.

I'm considering GTEM since it shows promise and it's pretty cheap...thoughts, anyone?
