^Gorgeous!! Your dress is stunning.

My sister has a cake topper of her and her fiance in a plane (he's a pilot). She is looking for a teeny chihuahua to represent her dog to sit on the wing. Anyone have any ideas? We're thinking quarter sized, so it can fit on the wing and not look out of place.

check a dollhouse store? that probably sounds creepy and weird. but i used to have a dollhouse (like a real one that you go to the creepy stores for) and i have a teeny tiny schnauzer about that size that i got from a dollhouse store (cause i modeled my dollhouse after my real house, and that was our family dog). they make all kinds of dogs. i don't know where any stores like this are anymore though. they used to be around everywhere...

i wonder if a craft store would have them? i dunno. i think the best bet is a dollhouse shop, if one still exists! or maybe you could google around for like a dollhouse sized chihuahua haha

I know a few people have bought suits for groomsmen from Men's Wearhouse? Any opinions about the Pronto Uomo brand?

http://www.menswearhouse.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay_10051_10558_10601_167354_-1_10558_CHARCOAL_10051_?cm_vc=40159

This one fit really well - all the others were a bit boxy.

^ i actually just got my "free" suit yesterday from them (the $400 credit that comes from 5+ tux rentals) and it's funny that you mention the boxy bit

i'm barrel-chested with broad shoulders and it makes finding clothes that fit correctly really difficult since it always seems to come down to going for the "muscle man" look or having something that fits the shoulders but then comes straight down and making me look like a box

it was a tie between the $400 pronto uomo suit i picked out and a $700 calvin klein (i think), but both fit extremely well because they are "italian" (or "european") cut...since they're both 100% wool and it looks like pronto uomo gets good reviews online (though i'm fairly certain it's men's wearhouse's own brand), i opted to save the money (i also liked the color of the pronto uomo better)

^^ If you're planning on next April you'll probably want to call the more popular places first and see if they're even available. A friend of mine planning their wedding in early-May has had a hard time finding an open venue. Granted she's looking in the Triangle but still something to consider.

we got married at Homewood in July - had the ceremony in their outdoor area and the reception there too; it's perfect if you want a low key 50-100 person wedding.

For anybody looking for photographers, we just LOVED Telling Your Story Photographers, Ashley and her husband David. Phenomenal couple whose ideas flow seamlessly to produce an awesome photo.

We got married at Anderson Point Park in East Raleigh -- great for a smaller wedding!

In the $2,000 range, but WORTH IT. They even got in on some dancing!!

Does anyone know a good place to get invitations printed? Not looking for anything fancy or expensive..just flat black text. I was thinking Office Max, Staples, etc...something along those lines but was wondering if anyone has had a particularly good or bad experience with any and how much you paid.

I printed a sample invitation at Kinko's to see how it looked and it looked better than I was expecting. He also gave me the tip of when I go back to get the rest printed to bring my own paper from Wal-mart or something. You'll save a lot of money that way apparently.

Well I went ahead and bought invitations from Michael's last week with their 50% off any item coupon so I have the invitations, reply cards, and programs...I just need them printed. Do you know how much Kinkos would be for just the printing?

It's something I have plenty of time to figure out, but just thought I would ask if anyone had a good experience!

It totally depends on the size, volume, and design of what you're printing. Mine was a full color layout I made in Photoshop so it would be more than what you have I'm sure. I'd give them a call and see what they say.

Though you know, depending on how many you're printing it might be more cost effective to pick up a printer on sale for Black Friday and do them yourself. And then you'd have a printer

I have printed invitations and programs for three weddings (mine, my sister's, close friends). If you can afford to take it somewhere, do it, it's very worth it. It will take you HOURS to print them, and you will be frustrated with the printer, making sure it's all lined up correctly, that it keeps blotting on your paper, or won't stick to the paper. I strongly advocate for saving yourself the heartache and taking it some place like Kinkos!

But, if you're going to do it yourself, just allot plenty of time and patience, and it will save you money.

We just got engaged and its crazy how much we have to do/have already done. Our plan to get married in my parents backyard is looking to be falling apart. The backyard has a really pretty garden/pond where we would do the ceremony but the problem is the seating would be basically on a slant. And I'm thinking there isn't an easy way to basically create a platform for the additional 80 people who wouldn't be able to sit on the flatter area, not to mention the backyard won't look the best in late July. But at the same time I'm not sure how good our chances will be of booking somewhere for next July at this point.

To be honest we really haven't started discussing anything else yet. We were planning to go look at my parents house and plan some things out tomorrow morning but I'm thinking that planning session will result in her realizing that its not going to be all that doable there.

I would say we would probably be open to getting married wherever in the area. We live down by Campbell but both our parents are in Cary. I'd say about half the local guests are coming from the Campbell/Sanford area and the other half are from Cary, so really we aren't going to need to be too location specific. I was talking to my mom this morning about somewhere thats apparently really nice in Fuquay, so thats an option.

And as for budget I haven't really started talking about her parents about it, its not going to be something super extravagant (and we wouldn't want it to be, we want simple), but I'm sure we have some money to work with.
