or maybe even have Crips and Bloods handle security

Watch out for Brazil over the next 4 years. Some of the best players on that team tonight are under the age of 20, so they will be good to go for the U-20 World Cup, Olympics, and all senior level tournaments.

Post-Dunga Brazil soccer will be fun to watch the next cycle. The beautiful game is back.

Robinho and Neymar did pretty much what they wanted. I don't want to put a lot of stock in this for the US especially with no Dempsey, Holden, Cherundolo, others in different roles, etc. And let's be honest, we weren't going to score after Findley went in .

I haven't read that article yet, but Jurgen Klinsmann needs to get the nod from USSF.

He made a good pitch after the Ghana loss in the WC postgame, and they were close to hiring him before Bradley.

Plus, he's better than any domestic coach that they could hire currently.

" If you give me the choice, as an American fan, between winning the 2010 World Cup with Klinsmann or losing in the Round of 16 with Bradley, I'm taking the loss. That's my team. Bradley is from my country. Losing with honor beats winning with a ringer, and Klinsmann is a ringer -- even if he has lived in the United States for 12 years. Presumably he has dual citizenship, but that's not enough for me."

false alarm, Bradley given an extension.

fuck.

Quote :
"U.S. Soccer has agreed to a contract extension with U.S. Men's National Team head coach Bob Bradley. The agreement with Bradley, who guided the U.S. team to numerous achievements including finishing in first place in their group at the 2010 FIFA World Cup for the first time in 80 years, will keep him at the helm through the end of 2014."

This is such lame news, we can't really hope to get much better under Bradley. If Klinsmann said no because of the MLS or something, that would be really unfortunate. I like Bradley, but I doubt our team will do much better than it has been.

Bradley did enough to keep his job, but it would have been interesting to see what someone else could have done. I am not sold on Klinsmann. He won the 3rd place game while coaching Germany in the country of Germany which wouldn't be too hard for most pro coaches to do. Then he was later fired at Bayern Munich.

The dude should be fired for starting Clark over Edu alone.

Oh well, I'm not a huge Klinsmann fan either but I'm not sure how scraping by in a weak group in a WC and losing in the 2nd round is good enough to keep your job for another FOUR years and another World Cup. WCQ isn't starting next week or anything. If he re-hired Bradley simply because there weren't any better option available right now, why not take another look at the market in two years to see if there's something better? And how exactly do we plan on getting better? It's going to be essentially the same core of players next cycle with Bob's same philosophy and his stupid ass 4-4-2 with 2 defensive midfielders.

I'm really not as much of a Bradley hater as I seem... as I was really warming up to him (in spite of the Findley inclusion and his insistence on playing Clark). Maybe he'll learn and change his style, be more offensive, make the right lineup calls before we give up early goals... but let's just say I'm extremely skeptical.

I'll give bradley credit, he did a good job at making changes during games (something he was beyond horrible at before), but he was still making dumb moves before the matches (clark, findley, etc.). Maybe the next evolution of Bob Bradley will be making good moves only.

Hopefully he locks them in their hotel before games and takes the key, so his best players don't almost die in a car wreck. Davies would have been a huge difference maker up front.

^^ I keep hearing that, but I call bullshit. If not for making completely obvious-to-everyone fuckups, he wouldn't have even had the opportunity to make the "in-game changes" that everyone is giving him credit for.

Durrr, I'm gonna start Findley and Clark every game despite them being ineffective so that when I replace them with players who don't suck ass at halftime, I will look like a fucking genius.

So they're scrapping the Hex and changing qualifying to 2 groups of 4 with the top in each group advancing and then a playoff for the 3rd spot by the two 2nd place finishers....

I'm so pissed about this because it basically means Mexico and the US in different groups, which means no more Mexico WCQ games, which means no meaningful games against the best competition in the region and more importantly, no Azteca trip for me in 2013

i couldnt figure out why we sucked in every first half, then every time at halftime, feilhaber would go in and we would start playing great.. i realize he isn't worlds greatest player or anything, but it doesn't take a genius to notice that the team played worlds better every time he came into the game. i felt like he deserved at least 1 start

^^we'll find someway to fuck up qualifying and have to win on the last game just to barely squeak in somehow still
