700 isn't great but it's not horrible

Just got to 60/Inferno on my WD, and it's going WAY easier than my Barbarian did. I just DoT up everything and run around until it's dead.

Especially since barb abilities have huge damage.mods on them. Barbs dont need.trmendously good weapons to do.decent damage. It helps obviously but isnt nec

Man, servers today are terrible. I DCed once (where I'm still in game and can talk but the game is dead and no skill work and nothing moves). And I'm rubber-banding like crazy. Sigh.

And I just DC mid boss fight. Yay...

awesome that they about doubled the lv63 drop % in A1, wasn't too noticeable last night but i'm sure it helps.

tried the critical mass build from seedless's link, it is friggin awesome. basically can just spam diamond skin, frost nova, twisters, and explosive blast infinitely, effective on regular mobs and elites alike. only downside is there isnt a lot of range but its not really necessary if you have your resists/life at a decent amount

What are you guys running to find things? You using MF?

I'm running Act 1 over and over with my barb wearing full MF/Strength. Actually have to play smart since I have shit resists and HP, but shit dies really fast. Haven't got anything amazing but sold about 2 mil worth of items.

I'm trying to run act3 but act 1 is more efficient right now. Die to much in act 3.

If anyone has a good act 2 run would love to see/run that with you. Seem in act 2 I spend to much time just running around where in 1 I know where mobs are.
Finally got a good weapon drop in act 1, 950 dps socket/life leech 1 hander.

With the most recent changes I get a lot of 60-63 drops in act one and all those have a good enough chance to be a great item that I won't even bother with act3.

Just the 5 stacks is really all my MF.

I have a MF set that gets me up to like 250 and sometimes if I'm feeling up to it I'll carry it with me and try to switch right before the kill but I found to be honest MF didn't seem to help. I'm sure it does, but once they made it so chests and barrels ignored MF I just said screw it.

Until they actually come up and statistically show what MF does and how it helps, I'm not wasting time/money/energy with it.

MF hasn't been a stat I've prioritized on any of my gear in Inferno. I think I have a little bit, +20-40 maybe, but it's always come as an ancillary stat on the gear that I'm primarily picking up for Str, Vit, or Resists. I just get to 5 stacks of NV and ride that out, it seems to work pretty well.

I'm farming A2 now. Ran A1 for forever, but now that I can get through A2 reliably without worrying about dying I've moved to that.

Just farm what you can chew through without dying. Dying is for progression.

---

On a side note: The WD is killer. Got mine to 60 and started cruising through A1. This is a very underrated class.

I keep refining Act 2, but here is the gist of what I do.
Start quest on Kuul. Go to that area and clear the Left and Right areas for 5 stack. Then kill Kuul. Not sure if its worth getting the stacks here, though. Seems to take longer than other area.

Then go to Road to Alcarnas. I do this second because there are bunches of goblins reliably in the first 3 or so zones. Go to Alcarnas (east) and clear the bottom area. Always a guaranteed champ pack or two.

Then head to north to East Stinging Winds. Just run through and see if a champ pack is there. The middle area might have a Resplendant or the Necro quest with skeletons who spawns a champ (not unique). You might also find the Ruins, Chamber of the Lost Idol, or Crumbling Vault. All 3 are packed with champs. If you get Vault, don't race through. Just kill the champs in there (reward is just a replendant). Don't die after time runs out, though, because you can't get back in unless you are in a party.

Then port to Khazim Outpost and go south to West Stinging Winds. There should be a few packs here, as well as a center event and possibly another random dungeon.

Then go east to the Mines and the area south of it. These should have a ton of champ packs, some events, and maybe the Sirrocco Caverns.

I used to clear Oasis and Ancient way as well, but it doesn't really seem worth it. Ancient way could have a bunch of random dungeons, but it has all the enemies that I hate. You get a burrowing shorty pack and you could spend a good amount of time trying to figure out where the last one is. It also has those fast groups of monsters that explode for poison on death.

And that's pretty much it. Sometimes I go and kill Belial as well just to feel like a rockstar.

Btw, is Monk more your style than WD?

Very much so. Now that I have about 100 or so hours in on the Monk it appears to be a class I'm enjoying more. I didn't play the WD after the patch so not sure how it would have done with the inferno nerf.

What I will say is that there seems to be a lot more ways to play the WD. There are tons of different builds and approaches where the Monk seems to be a bit more streamline.... I've sorta settled into certain skills and passives and doesn't seem like I can flip a switch and play a totally different way. I could do that with the WD. Difference is there are less styles with the monk but more effective, while the WD had many styles/builds but I felt they all sucked or were gimmicky. It felt anyone being successful with the WD wasn't playing the class as it intended, but finding weird builds that almost seem like blizzard would have to patch(like the current acid rain/freeze on hit build).

I've gone with a bit of a DPS/Tank Monk combo. I'm dual wielding with LoH and good resist. Stats are now 780 resist, 30k HP, 22k DPS. Can't kill Ghom though. Just die to the gas.

"3. Conclusion

-Magic find increases the class ("item-color") of the gear found.
-Magic find does not increase the number of items found.
-Magic find does not increase the iLvl of the gear found.
-Whether or not magic find affects affix rolls is not investigated here, but there is no reason as of to suspect that magic find would increase the stat rolls.
-Last and most important: Future data collection may help to provide data for computational research on magic find. It will also be investigated if this research is directly applicable to elite farming.

Magic find is not useless, as some people may have pointed out it may feel like. It increases the class of the gear found and as the % of iLvl is static, the more MF you have the more items of higher quality will you receive in the long run and it may therefore seem (as you get more useful gear) like you get higher iLvl gear."

to me, from the few different graphs he has in that post, the difference in % of gear found between 0 mf and 200+ mf is pretty small. therefore, unless you stack up to mid 200's it probably is not worth the time/effort in collecting useable mf gear.

I have about 6 pieces of random MF gear that I often put off just before the kill. None are above 20%, so its just run of the mill junk. I've got to say, even with 5 stacks, the extra pieces do appear to help. With just NV, I usually get 2 rare. With the extra pieces, I feel I'm getting more like 3 rares consistently. Sometimes, I only get rares and no blues, meaning the MF + NV pushed all blue/white/grey to rare. I'm also getting more rares than my friends when in the same game (they don't gear swap), so I'd say that its at least helping a bit.

Also keep in mind, it's a big enough "issue" that Blizzard is looking to "fix" it.

-----

Oh, and I think that Treasure Goblins still get MF benefit. They can drop a crapton of blues, so very high MF would appear to benefit greatly there (as opposed to champs). I think that's why people farm Act 2 for goblins jumping in and out of games to find one, clobber him, then switch to MF really fast.

I have base 218 MF, and with 5 stacks + Fortune Shrine I peak 313 MF as a Barb.

38k HP
1k Resists
8k Armor
18k - Base DPS / 42k - Wrath/Battle Rage/Berserker
72% Dmg Red

Thus far, I have found 13 legendaries and 1 set item. It's working just fine for me, and I don't switch gear. I have gear that is Indestructive, High Magic Find, High All Resist, Max Socketed Per Piece, and Str/Vit. Blew probably 10m on it, but it's paying off big time, and I don't have to deal with switching.

I got lucky with some legendary sales before the patch, but otherwise I would probably use a macro to switch to MF gear right before a kill.

^^Thats not true. Considering a goblin drops like 8 items I would love to see an 8 rare goblin drop.

Decided the game seems to be dropping rapidly in popularity. Decided to downgrade my gear and sell of what I can while I can. Sold my bow almost instantly for 250$, maybe should've tried selling it on the forums for a little more but oh well.

I'll probably farm for a little while now and try to save for some new gear which will probably be much cheaper then my current stuff anyways.

It's more I reached a point where my gear wasn't making a huge difference in my farming. I can farm A1 with my MF gear, so why hang on to my 400$ set of gear that I can use to farm ponies when I'm not getting much better loot. Plus that 400$ set of gear is going to be worth significantly less a week from now. So the way I see it is sell what I can now while I probably won't be playing a ton for the next couple weeks, then once I start playing again I'll buy new gear with gold I'll have farmed in the mean time. I'm sure it won't be gear as good as what I had previously, but I doubt it will take long to get back to that point (unless blizz nerfs sarkoth again, then I'll be sad).
