does voting still mean anything?
Obama was voted president, yet the Tea Party thinks it can veto the healthcare bill

the tea party is not trying to or thinking it can veto anything.

however, it is advocating for congressmen to vote against it.

perhaps you should review your civics text, specifically the section dealing with the difference between the legislative and executive branches.

there's nothing wrong with asserting the power of one's own position

I recommend that you review your civics text, specifically the section dealing with checks and balances.

I love that Fox assumes all the people taking its online poll are conservative:

Quote :
"Are the Tea Partiers Too Late?

Yes. This train’s left the station and it’s time to focus on changing Congress in November.

I’m not sure, but IF the train’s left the station I’m sure glad someone’s still yelling about it.

No. There still are enough Democrats on the fence – keep up the pressure."

There's literally no option for those who support the bill.

Quote :
"A ‘No Vote’ Vote: Is This What the Founding Fathers Had in Mind?

Yes. Pelosi’s just using Congress’ own rules to pass a law – get over it, people.

Not sure, but didn’t Jefferson say: “A wise and frugal government… which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits ..."?

No. I voted for a congressman who will represent my point of view in making laws – if they won’t, then they’re gone in November."

- "I'm not sure, but here's a non sequitur regarding small government."

the Tea Party has gotten a little too sure of itself based on the threats, yet their support is dwindling
i think they have set themselves up to lose a lot of momentum come November

people elected a health care platform. thats pretty simple. congress following through on the platform they ran is hardly "jamming something down americas throat".

democratic republic

people vote for pro-healthcare politcians
pro healthcare politicians us majority to pass healthcare
president that ran with healthcare as a major policy, allows it

whats the problem?

I don't know, what was the problem when Bush got us into two unjust wars? I mean, people voted for pro-war politicians, right?

^^ If you remember, Bush ran on a non-interventionist platform, that the US wasn’t the world police.

Obviously things changed after 9/11, but it doesn’t change the other fact that Saddam and Bin Laden don’t have meaningful ties to each other.

I could understand if bush ran with slogans like "we're going to change the way america is viewed around the globe" and "we're going to guarantee combat as a right to all of our troops"

only, they really didn't. Anyone who is being intellectually honest will admit that the 2006 and 2008 elections were voted on "who isn't Bush?" That's how the Dems ran it, and it was, frankly, a good strategy. Don't act like that meant people ultimately wanted what the Dems were spouting. They just didn't want dubya, and they were dumb enough to buy in to the false-dichotomy set up by the Dems. Mind you, the Pubs will do the same thing this year. It'll be "hey, we aint that danged ol' Obama!" And we'll swing the other way into absurdity

ya but don't act like it was some sort of bait and switch when the dems were very vocal about healthcare during the race and the poeple voted for them anyway. if they people really didin't want healthcare takeover they would've voted for mccain. mccain isn't bush. bush didn't run for a 3rd term.

polls are generally the opinion of the people who answer them

are you that fucking dense?

or did you not even look and see that there is no article at that link? just a couple sentences leading into the poll

Doesn't matter if it's in the opinion section. They will put asinine, biased polls like this on the air as news to advance their narrative.

The InterAcademy Panel on International Issues (IAP) is a global network consisting of over 100 national science academies. Founded in 1993, its stated goal is to help member academies advise the public on the scientific aspects of critical global issues. It has released official statements on socially important topics, including population growth, human reproductive cloning, and evolution

I'm not sure what they meant by that question.

ABC News paid a child killer $200,000... If this had been Fox News you guys would be pitching a fit comparing them to tabloids and such.

But since it is a liberal news outlet, they get a free pass from all you critical motherfuckers.
