Of course, plenty of their fans could end up buying the 2 game package.

Got my minipack tickets in the mail today, and I'm SO excited! If only I knew what to do about parking :/
How early do you think I should show up to be able to park at the vet school. Or rather... how soon does the vet school lot fill up? I don't want to be too early; I've got no buddies to tailgate with.

I park in TX and whenever I drive in there's plenty of room in the vet school lot; but then again, I'm always there as early as they'll let us.8/17/2009 8:08:02 PM |

Quote : | "Pack's Baker hitting stride The senior running back, returning from 2007 knee injury, is showing 'burst' in preseason workouts. BY KEN TYSIAC - Staff writer
RALEIGH -- The route was just a simple dump-off on a checkdown by the quarterback.
Toney Baker turned it into something special. He broke tackles and fought his way downfield for one of the biggest plays of N.C. State's second preseason scrimmage.
It was the latest indication that Baker is getting close to resembling the back who led the Wolfpack in rushing in 2006. Baker, now a senior, hasn't played since tearing a knee ligament in the 2007 opener against Central Florida but finally feels right again.
"I feel like the old Toney," he said after practice Monday. "No question. Each day I can feel myself getting better and more explosive."
Baker wasn't exceptionally explosive during spring practice, when he first returned to the field. He said he still was trying to figure out what he can do, how he was going to feel and how his knee would react to running, cutting and contact.
Playing football for the first time after the long absence was difficult enough. Overcoming an injury made it even more difficult.
"He took two years off, so I'm sure he was still questioning his ability and things like that," running backs coach Jason Swepson said. "But he had a great summer in the weight room and the conditioning program and came out in fall camp and has been sharp. Really sharp."
After N.C. State's first scrimmage, coach Tom O'Brien said Baker had shown some "burst" on the field. Following the second scrimmage, which featured the long catch and run, O'Brien complimented Baker again in front of the media.
If Baker can continue his reemergence, the Wolfpack should have two highly regarded senior running backs as Jamelle Eugene begins the season as the starter.
Swepson said both players are showing leadership that should help redshirt freshman Brandon Barnes and freshman James Washington in the future. Swepson also said Baker doesn't look rusty.
He doesn't feel rusty, either. He sounds like the back who rushed for 688 yards in 2006 and led the Wolfpack in rushing in seven games as a freshman and five more as a sophomore
"I feel like I'm getting better each day," Baker said. "Each day I'm out here with the guys I feel like I'm getting better at something. And every day I can feel myself getting ready for that first game. And it's a great feeling."" |

While I think the predictions of massive blowouts are a bit over the top, particularly given the fact that our secondary hasn't shown they can stop the pass (granted USC is breaking in Garcia, but still...), the South Carolina team last year was not 34 points better than us. We played them for the most part without Russell Wilson, and our defense finally broke after being on the field for 80 percent of the game. 8/18/2009 2:11:43 PM |

I think that's totally reasonably considering how much better our QB situation is. Do you remember how bad Evans/Beck were? South Carolina's secondary is also significantly shittier than it was last year and we should actually be able to take advantage of that with Wilson and/or Glennon.
Quote : | "particularly given the fact that our secondary hasn't shown they can stop the pass (granted USC is breaking in Garcia, but still...)" |
I am worried about our secondary, but I'm skeptical that Garcia will be able to take advantage of it seeing as how he threw more INTs than TDs last year and his passer rating was a 64. Also it seems like Rashard Smith is coming along nicely, after that pick 6 in the scrimmage.

I had gotten myself all overconfident about this game because (I believe) we've never lost a game where Nate Irving and Russell Wilson were both healthy throughout the entire game. But of course one half of that tandem had to go down before the season even started. 8/18/2009 2:26:20 PM |

they have Stephen Garcia and Reid McCollum. Garcia is not a good QB to this point, and McCollum is an unknown, so its not like our depleted secondary is going against Tim Tebow or Colt McCoy. furthermore, our secondary is practicing against the best QB in the ACC everyday, and against arguably one of the best receiving corps in the ACC.
we might not be great in the secondary, but i think we will be better than people may think.
USC does not have WR's (they lost McKinnley). The also lost a significant portion of their defense (captain munnerlyn and co.), but they return Eric Norwood who is All SEC.
i think the defenses are close to a wash, but at home we'll force their offense into bad situations and capitalize off of turnovers (hell, they threw like 5 last year in Columbia).
and as for a 54 pt turnaround, never would have thought after losing 41-10 to USF that we'd come back at the end of the season and win a game 41-10, especially vs North Carolina...
i say bring it, cocks. 8/18/2009 2:36:20 PM |

season tickets came in the mail last week, hyped about this game. sucks i have a meeting in houston friday morning, but the earliest flight out of RDU will get me there in time!
my prediction: state 27 - USC 21. i really haven't followed USC's offseason, so i have no clue as to how they're projected compared to last year's team. this board claims they'll suck, the USC board claims they're gonna finally be AWESOME under spurrier. i dunno. i'm just glad i won't have to hear that annoying "caw-caw-ca-CAAAAW!!" every two minutes like i heard at the game last year. freaking cocks. i will say this to USCs credit, they fill up a 80K+ stadium even though their team typically sucks. good for them, they definitely have a good game atmosphere there. 8/18/2009 6:49:29 PM |

I'm freakin stoked. I have one request.. no, two..
1. Please, for the love of everything that is good in this world... don't let a soul into the student section unless they're both a State fan and wearing State or neutral apparel. A piece of me dies inside every time i see some freshman punk wearing a shirt from the other team in Section 8.
2. I don't care if we're winning by 1 or 87 points... please don't wave your keys like you're in high school again. It was stupid then and it still is. Just walk out smiling, they already know.
