I almost think that most of the people who post regularly in this thread could manage this team to better results than Benitez

he is perhaps the most appallingly underqualified man in professional football

Brian Clough did this kind of stuff all the time, and he won League titles for two different clubs and Europe in 1979 and 1980. He was constantly making strange decisions that no one else understood.

He also got fired from Leeds after a month because he couldn't win any games thanks to pissing all of his best players off.

Yeah, and then he went on to lead Nottingham Forest to success.

All I'm saying is that sometimes strange decisions by a coach can be part of a successful plan. It doesn't always work, but sometimes it does.

I hear what you're saying...but you don't take off the best striker in the world when you need to win a game

I can't think of any plan that would justify that

he might see it an easier task to win that than be consistent the rest of the EPL. he has been known and i guess still is a good gameday tactician. he just cant seem to put it together for the course of a season and win the league

Who knows if Jozy will even be there next season but it would be nice for them to stay up if he does continue with Hull

I'm more concerned about Bolton and Holden

^^^^ i wonder what he expected. of course the press latches onto controversial statements. you think SAF would know this by now. not the best way to react to this situation all around. congratulate BM and move on.

Seriously. I don't understand why these guys (Benitez, Wenger, and SAF) all act like little babies. You don't see this stuff as often from the other managers, and don't tell me it's a big four thing - you don't see Ancelotti whining like these guys do.

I can't think of many managers that aren't a bitch except for Hodgson, who is a pimp. Oh yeah, and I also think Moyes is a cool dude

Damn, you got me. I was going to put in that little caveat, but thought I'd see what happens instead.

And Moyes is the fucking man - you'd never see him pulling that shit.

It's the same as the players...diving, whining, faking injury to try and get a card...

These things make it very hard for me to watch soccer (how can grown athletes act like this?)

I still watch though because I love the sport.

Just seems really pathetic to me, they need to take lessons on how not to look/act like pussies from american and aussie footballers, hockey players, etc. Shit's sad.

west ham with the good showing today to stay out of relegation. i would have rather a draw between hull/burnley but that'll do.

This is supposed to be a slam from Rio, but it comes off wrong

Quote :
"Tevez left the Red Devils to join bitter rivals Manchester City in the summer, and is set to meet his former club in Saturday's derby clash at Eastlands, but Ferdinand has mischievously suggested that the energy Tevez shows on a matchday is not necessarily reflected in his attitude to training.

''Carlos is an interesting character,'' he told The Sun. ''When he was at United, he saved all his energy for the games - he didn't really go over the top at training.

''He worked hard in the gym - he was a professional in that sense - but everything he did was geared towards the match at the weekend.

''You could see him conserving his energy during the week and then laying it all on the line out on the pitch.

''That's not the way I operate, I have to train at a high level every day. But it works for Carlos and he can be a real handful to defend against.''"

Isn't the point to be ready to go 110% come the weekend? They pay him to score goals and not go balls to wall in training. Seems like a smart move by Tevez to me.

just sour grapes

They all said they were going to be fine without him but it's obvious they weren't and now they're just trying to make excuses for it.

Bash Rafa all you want for his transfer dealings (and I agree to a certain extent) but if he had wasted around 45 mil on Berbatov and Carrick and then let Tevez go when he could have had him for around 20... we'd never hear the fucking end of it.

LOL, that must explain why Berbs goes at it with about 10% on match days. He must be practicing at 100%.
