I agree with the consensus that I drive sucks and most navs do too. If I didn't have to get nav in the jeep to get the externally amped stereo with sub I would have passed too. I would have passed anyway if it wasn't just a double din hole for the nav but it is so ill deal with u connect through warranty and then get an aftermarket head unit that should fit just fine :-)

iDrive may not be perfect, but it is nice to have something integrated to the rest of the car. The Real Time Traffic Info (RTTI) works well, I love the send to car feature, which lets me send my destination to my car from the computer or my phone, and then of course it's great for picking music. Not to mention it makes the interior look great. That is subjective though.
8/13/2013 11:31:55 AM
it does look nice, but the music selection and nav are god awful compared to my 8 year old AVIC D3.
8/13/2013 12:10:48 PM
I hate my car's built in navigation. It's far and away inferior to my phone's multiple navigation apps.
8/13/2013 2:03:18 PM
^if it's sourced from toyota's oem line, i feel you on that. that shit's even worse than a "navigon" unit I bought on here for $40

The jeeps kinda blows on road and is clumbsy to use but offload, the resolution and accuracy is awesome. I also like the bread crumb feature so you can just go exploring.

8/13/2013 9:45:45 PM
how's that roll center working out for you?
8/14/2013 3:53:58 AM
Welded a Flowmaster 50 series on the new truck last week. Also 15% tint.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFlXbtzYKhs

^^^^how in the world does having no suspension travel help that car handle?
8/14/2013 8:33:41 AM
I got potenza RE0960's myself. seems like a good tire so far but I really need an alignment to pass judgement. hopefully they hold up at VIR

When my OEM Michelin Primacy HPs wear out I'll be upgrading to Dunlop Direzza Star Spec ZII's. Instrumented testing has show that this car can hit 1.00g of lateral grip just by making this change.

impressive
8/14/2013 2:46:53 PM
plus the exhaust and framerails are self-clearancing! hit a few bumps, they crush in, and then they're harder to hit next time around

30k miles on RE050s? Unplug the vtec solenoid and see how long it takes him to notice.Im going with RE760s because they are cheap and will be gone in 15k miles.

FYI if any of you Raleigh guys need anything welded up, check out Praxis Fabrication on Facebook. the page says Florida, but one of the guys is actually a friend of mine living in north Raleigh. he does excellent TIG work.for example: i had an old pair of extended FLCAs laying around that i might use for an S14 later on. i had him weld on a plate and threaded bung for a heim joint (rose joint, rod end, whatever) to replace the squishy factory inner bushing and give the LCA some length adjustability.
8/14/2013 8:38:12 PM
Switch to johnnies they hold up betterBut I would fuck those arms... They are that pretty....
8/14/2013 9:21:38 PM
eh, these are plenty beefy joints. i'm not worried about them. plus i really don't drive the car that often now that i have a honda for daily duty.
8/14/2013 10:03:53 PM
jawhitak, do you have any experience with a throwout bearing noise on an S13? (that's my guess)
8/15/2013 12:11:27 AM
oh look, Ragged being a douche again.Yeah Quinn, he doesn't drive his car very hard

Just a heads up on why I like Johnny's better is they keep dirt out of the low friction areas better. They aren't really any stronger just last longer.
8/15/2013 2:33:36 PM
Tke,youre turning in to a mid life crisis queer. Go read sports and compacts
8/15/2013 10:29:37 PM
waiting to receive my aluminum crank shaft pulley, then putting it on.thinking about turbo'ing my 4B12 Lancer GTS
8/17/2013 11:54:45 AM
^you sure you want to bother with that?
8/17/2013 7:34:48 PM
^I'm not sure, but I've been looking into it. I know I could get a kit from RRM, costing about $5k, but I've also heard I could do it myself in pieces and spend about $3k.
8/18/2013 4:35:58 PM
but the answer you're really looking for isno.
8/18/2013 5:02:13 PM
^^ the best mod for a mitsubishi is selling it
8/18/2013 6:08:52 PM
just looked up some turbo lancer videos; that power is nowhere near the 250whp (~310hp) each owner claimedhttp://www.roadracemotorsports.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=293the RRM guys say +50%... so 225hp, at most. for $4300, I'd pass. Especially since you're not even going to make enough power to warrant new injectors and fuel pump

Rolled 220k today.
8/18/2013 11:36:50 PM
i promised a picture of my almost-level LCAs, and my phone lens can barely see underneath my front lip, so here. i wish i had a before pic when they were pointing at the sky.outer extensions on the LCAs are 40mm, plus the inner heim joints are threaded out another 16mm, so ~56mm longer on each side. hooray for absurdly long (and 100% interchangeable!) Maxima tie rods.
8/20/2013 9:12:12 PM
Maxima inner and outer or which one
8/20/2013 9:45:52 PM
oh sorry. Maxima/I30 inners, S14 outers....although the Maxima/I30 outers might be comparable to S14 outers too? i dunno[Edited on August 20, 2013 at 10:01 PM. Reason : afterthought]
8/20/2013 10:00:46 PM
That's cool. I didn't know that.
8/20/2013 10:04:40 PM
very cool jawhitak
8/21/2013 8:47:28 AM
Yeah seriously that's probably one of the best 240s I've ever seen.
8/21/2013 10:34:00 AM
i took my hybrid fusion in to get the powertrain software update todayit's supposed to help improve the gas mileage, but we'll seein the first ~3 months, def. havent gotten that 47 mpg (closer to 36)
8/30/2013 7:33:55 PM
Damn... those welds... are like I wished I had skill like that. My Tig is terrible and barely passable Mig. Forget aluminum... It's like basketball, I understand the math and physics of whats going on, but actually doing it... execution is key.
8/31/2013 5:37:36 AM
so we did a lot of talk about tires here. I came post that all seasons, even ultra-high performance all seasons are total dog shit on track and you should think twice about running them.
8/31/2013 7:34:40 PM
put a seat in my pickup, next is replacing the PTO shaft on the F-600. a universal joint let go and made a mess out of it. Hoping to get the new steering box and rag joint in my pickup soon as time allows. it will have less play and will hopefully turn easier.
