It's a good indicator of hitting the muscles but just because you don't feel the soreness doesn't mean you didn't hit the muscles hard!

haha i <3 you.

so my friend got me tics to rascall flatts tonight!
this means drinking will commence in about 10 minutes

but i have been prepping for this.

so far i have eaten:
39 grams carbs.
15 grams of fat
168 grams of protein

all under 1000 cals (that was completely unintentional, im actually mad i only ate that much which i will further go into tomorrow at check in )

bring on the carb loading!

(disclaimer...1) i am fully aware that drinking beer is far worse for your body and muscle and fat loss than eating lots of carbs. 2) i am, hopefully, gonna make it an early night and not get hammered, but nice and tipsy )

having to listen to rascal flatts is by far the worse thing for you out of the deal. i'd definitely drink myself to death to make it stop if i found myself in that unfortunate situation.

Wooo! 37.25 miles today. Did the first 20 in about 1:10, which is pretty good considering I was on Holly Springs Rd. for a good portion of that (hilly as a mofo). Really trying to get in at least 25 miles every other day. Thinking about doing about 50 on Sunday late afternoon.

Is there any interest in getting a group ride together? I wouldn't mind some company and not having to fight the wind all by myself every time.

I can tell the difference in my bewbs (that fatty armpit thing has gotten smaller too!!!), thighs, and abs. I would like to see more in all but even more so with legs and arms.

I love Friday because Friday is back day. It's so demanding that I find it easier to eat like a madman and put away a lot of food. So far today:

bowl of special k red berries, coffee
sausage and egg burrito
6 oz yogurt
chicken breast, brown rice, soy beans, half a sweet potato
another chicken breast/rice/beans/sweet potato meal again
scoop MGN whey w/ skim milk
2 jumbo eggs, chicken breast, 10oz diced potatoes, citrus juice
12 oz round steak, oatmeal, skim milk

I know this comment was awhile ago but I want to address it:

Quote :
"The only reason people get on weight watchers is because they're lazy, which is usually the reason they're fat in the first place."

I'm on WW, so maybe I'm biased. Laziness is only one part of the getting fat equation. There's also lack of portion control and apathy towards the nutritious value of what you eat. WW has made me obviously aware of what I'm doing wrong in those two areas especially. You still have to exercise, duh, but at least it's easier for me to get motivated when I can track what I do in a very user-friendly online environment.

20 lbs down! Just 14 till my goal weight!

1. amna-you are looking great!
2. i have no probs with weight watchers....if it works that is. i know a few people who "use" it sparingly
3. what was supposed to be an early night and getting tipsy turned into drunkfest 2010. but i had a blast
4. CHECK IN

i apologize for the hungover-ness. our pictures are the first thing we did to get them out of the way

i feel really, really, really freaking good about my progress this week.
i've told ya'll this already but i've upped my cals the past couple of weeks.
i was originally at 1300-1400 with some days dipping down to 1200 (unintentionally) and now im up to 1600-1700 with some days dipping down to 1500.
i still have one hardcore drinking night (think 8-9 beers) and/or 1-2 really bad cheat meals per week. usually i have two of the previous. very rarely all three.
at first i was really upset b/c i put on a little weight, but now it fell off!
i was ranging in the 142-146 range (with lows of 139 and highs of 150), but mostly i would weigh about 144
now im ranging 140-144. mostly at 142. it's crazy.

however even with all of this progress i'm still not happy about my thighs
can't for the life of my get them to be leaner.
hell, my abs keep shining through and i can see my four-pack more so than i ever could!!! (which does make me happy)
cody took a pic of some of us last night from behind at the concert (you know, arms around eachother and just being girls and shit)
and i wanted to tear up (i'm sure drinking wasnt a help with that)
i'm sure its a body type thing (as a matter of fact the women in my family are known for big asses and thunder thighs ) but that doesnt soften the blow much :-/
my backside does NOT make me happy

just measured my bodyfat... its at about 12.5%... I'm in a good healthy range but I want to push it lower into the upper single digits like 9%

I think I'm still doing pretty good muscularly, because I've been doing the weight training and eating 110+ grams of protein a day

Oh well... Can't get the formatting to look right. Anyway, if anyone is interested, I found this website that listed beers by their nutritional information.

I don't give a crap how many calories are in a "beer"... I care about how drunk I can get without drinking too many calories. Who cares if Bud Select is 50 calories if its got 2% alcohol, right?

So I imported the beers into a spreadsheet and made two extra columns for calories per ABV and carbs per ABV.

The data below is sorted by the Calories per ABV, so the first beer on the list will get you the most drunk with the least calories. The beer at the bottom of the list will get you the least drunk for the most calories.

Enjoy. Sorry about the formatting. There should be data in every column and every row so you can just count to the right to figure out which number is what data.

i guess that data is good if you are drinking to get wasted and dont care for taste.

Well this is a beach body thread, not a beer snob thread....

I found it interesting that Sam Adams Boston Lager and Michelob Ultra have almost the same ABV, but Mich Ultra has 1/3 fewer calories than Sam Adams!! That's a huge difference - about 70 calories per beer, which will really add up if you're drinking 3+ during a game or something.

Of course you're sacrificing taste, but guess what... I've been sacrificing taste in all my meals for the past month so GTFO with your beer snobbery.

^^it's not a beer snob remark

My point is that beer is an indulgence. I'm not saying don't drink beer. I'm saying either drink beer for taste and don't worry about calories because it is an indulgence. Or, drink the beer with the absolute lowest calories and not the one that has the best "calories" vs "get you drunk" ratio. The reason being that if you are gonna drink and sacrifice taste in favor of low calories, then there are beers with less calories than your list.

I haven't been able to find any compiled references for liquor like the one I found for beer.

I would imagine the lowest calorie liquor would be a high proof vodka. Just be very careful what you mix it with, because that's what's really going to screw you when drinking liquor (unless you're GKMatt who probably drinks pure sugar water with every shot of vodka, you know, because its an indulgence)

^ up those weights if you aren't really struggling to complete the sets.

^^^ i'm pretty sure the particular spirit or proof wouldn't make any difference. Alcohol has 7 cal/gram, and there isn't really anything else in liquor that would have calories...so it should be practically the same between different spirits. Obviously, say, 151 rum would have more calories per ounce than 80 proof rum, but then, you don't drink as much of it.
