The question whether or not winning national POY be enough to have your jersey retired? Can you imagine how strange it would feel to look up and see a red Leslie or Brown jersey hanging in the rafters next to Thompson's jersey? I mean, the guy is a legend. Even if one of them was to miraculously win national POY (which would come with ACC POY and first team AA honors as well), the disparity in accomplishments would be hard to overlook. That said, no one should ever again be expected to accomplish all of what Thompson did in order to have their jersey retired.

i like the fact that the jersey retirement bar was set as high as it is. that being said, if someone wants to carry the team to a national championship while winning NPOY i'm cool with adding another red jersey.

^^^^A third banner wouldn't seem weird to me at all. It's just hard for me to imagine looking up and saying, "Yep, CJ Leslie is one of the most honored players in the history of NC State basketball. Second only to David Thompson." I'm just imagining how I would react to that situation alone. I would never extrapolate that to it being "weird to have a good basketball team". Although, it would be a little strange since I've never experienced it.
