Kawhi Leonard should win Finals MVP in resounding fashion, even though the Heat won

If not, its a complete travesty and the entire league should pay more attention to some spreadsheet nerds

I think Manu was pretty clearly the MVP for the Heat's big wins in Game 6 & 7

Lucky championship but I guess the heat truly are the best team in a league where every pg is injured

If State didn't make the mistakes they did in the UCLA game, we probably should've won...whether or not we would've won the CWS is another story

Similarly, if San Antonio didn't fuck up at the end of game 6, with missed free throws, coaching mishaps like benching Duncan (and perhaps Parker, though it may have been due to his hammy), the Spurs should've won in 6

oh well, thats sports for you...the human element factors in, its not all predicted by advanced statistics

Last championship for this group. Wade is done and Bosh is trash. Their 2 championships were a shortened season and a playoff run where everyone but them were decimated by injuries. No dominance, just fluke luck.

lets be real. if the heat would have lost game 6 or 7 this thread would have been 100 pages and growing by now.

let go of your hate. stop taking sports so seriously. tip your hat to it. this is just a blimp in a huge NBA sports timeline. I thought the heat played horrible this whole playoffs. what amazed me is the spurs went to the free throw line more than the heat at home.unreal. also they dared lebron to shoot the jumper which he improved dramatically this year. it almost worked. I had the spurs in 5. O well.

what will I watch now?

Spurs shot more FTs in 6/7 and in the one they didn't it was a tie.

Totally biased towards Miami though.

honestly the 4th quarter is all thats worth watching in a lot of games, if you dont get to see them live

and while they shouldve beaten Dallas (up 2-0 or something) they honestly shouldve probably lost this series of the spurs didnt fuck up in game 6

so they should have 2 titles and should have lost this series, if you wanna get on some should-of stuff

ok i agree. I thought them losing to Dallas was "bringing balance to the world" for all haters.

Game 6 will haunt the spurs forever.

Last year, they were kind of a team of destiny...because basically Lebron was still hungry for his first title...I didn't know if that hunger would be there this year, kinda like a musician or band being hungry to put out quality music, then resting on their laurels from the success of huge debut album record sales...that might have been partially true, ie struggling against Pacers and Spurs when you're heavy preseason favorites, but they delivered when it counted, and The King got his 2nd ring, which probably won't be his last

Wonder how they'll do things in the offseason though

Will they keep Bosh? How will Wade's health hold up? How many more years do Miller, Allen, Battier, etc have?

The Spurs' window is closing with the age of Duncan, even though they have young ballers like Leonard, but the Heat's window isn't that wide open either.

There were rumors after the Pacers series that the BobHornets wanted to trade for Bosh(thinking it would put fans in the seats??).

If Heat could move Bosh and dump his salary, think the next move would be amnesty Wade and free up a ton of cap space. I imagine Battier, Miller, and Allen are considering packing it up as well. Use the extra cap space to build the team around Lebron(something Cleveland was never successful at).

I'm not saying they need to land a Chris Paul level talent, but they could definitely bring in some solid players to put around him and still be competitive next year(also use it to lure LBJ to stay in Miami).

If they trade Bosh while landing zero returning salary & amnesty Wade, they'd still have nearly $50M in salary on the books. Plus upwards of another $6.1M in Player Options on Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis & James Jones. Next season's cap is gonna be ~$58.5M

Kawhi was unreal but he just had no supporting cast in the end.

Bron vs kawhi could be this generations bird vs magic.

Has anybody even looked at Dennis Rodman's numbers before? THEY ARE UNREAL. Don't see how you can realistically think that anybody, much less leonard, can get to that.

Quote :
"MIAMI—A number of self-proclaimed “big Miami Heat fans” woke up this morning, turned on the local news, and were reportedly thrilled to learn that their team won Game 7 of the NBA Finals last night, sources confirmed Friday. “So they won the trophy?” said 47-year-old Coral Gables resident Frank Gardner, echoing the sentiments of millions of die-hard Heat fans throughout the area, who went on to note that they started watching the team more since the franchise acquired “LeBron James and Chris Bush [sic].” “We turned in early last night, so this was just great news to wake up to. So what does this mean for them now? Do they move on, or how does it work? I'm excited.” When told of the victory, a number of members of the Heat Nation said they love Shaquille O’Neal, think he’s a character, and that he must have played very well last night for the Heat to have won"

The Clippers will definitely be a contender in the west if they get Rivers, Garnett, and Pierce. Losing DeAndre Jordan would hurt the frontcourt for sure, but I think they could pick up some cheap help there with the star power that team would have.

[Edited on June 21, 2013 at 9:52 PM. Reason : Nevermind. I guess that's not gonna work out now with Rivers declining the Clips]
