^^lol, I'm not in the least bit surprised to hear that

When I go in a few months I'll just be running on my OEM Michelin HP Primacy grand touring summer tires. People bash them but they are W rated with a 240 A treadwear rating. They'll probably get greasy but with my lightweight car I'm not worried about chunking them.

- Reinstalled factory intake assembly on Dakota; had to 'fab' up an offset 1/4"-20 stud to hold the air hat to the throttle body. Going to sell the Bill's Intake kit for cheap, separately.

- Went to replace water pump on Dakota, quickly learned that the pump I bought on rockauto 2yrs ago was the wrong one...back to the drawing board. One comes with a threaded pulley hub, the other has threaded holes on the pulley itself.

- De-"Oraled" Ol' Red by way of replacing straight-piped stock exhaust with a complete 409SS 4" system, complete with perf core muffler AND an FTE 30" resonator/muffler (auger insert, absolutely kills any interior drone). Also reinstalled the stock turbo's 'silencer ring', furthering my 'stock truck' goals.

- Detailed interior of Ol' Red, over a period of 4hrs and a few hundred q-tips. PO must have lived on a dirt road or something, as the thing was completely covered with dirt.

It would appear that some motherfucker in a white car sideswiped my Integra, from the opposite direction (which means they were probably drunk). I live at the end of a street, so this is ridiculously frustrating

2 foot long dent, deepest point is about 2-3". No sharp creases, no cracked paint. I wonder if this can be popped out at one of those Dent Wizard places?

opinions on genuine honda part vs autozone part for a rear wheel bearing assembly on 07 accord? prices for genuine are about double (or more)

Go OEM for the wheel bearing. Try majestichonda.com for better pricing.

I put 4 tires and an alignment on the Accord. Not really loving the Yokohama YK580. The YK520's I replaced felt more surefooted.

Even the Timkin's have been sketchy the last few years. You are not guaranteed a matched set of bearing and race. They started outsourcing to China and the quality has gone to shit.

Patched floorboards and replaced PTO shaft in F-600, treated floorboard in F-100 with ospho in preparation for patching.

Picked up a big bolt in a tire on my Insight today. I was about due for new tires anyway, so I limped it to Discount Tire. Without even doing any online price matching or anything, I got 4 Bridgestone low-rolling resistance tires, mounted and balance, with free lifetime rotation, 65k tread wear warranty, Discount Tire warranty against flats, a rebuilt TPMS sensor, taxes, out the door for $450 (if you count a $70 mail-in rebate).

It just tripped the maintenance minder for a scheduled service (oil and trans fluid change). I'll do it all myself for something like $65, using Honda CVT fluid, Mobil 1, and a Bosch filter.

After a decade of driving apart nothing but sports cars, it's kinda mind blowing how cheap this thing is to own and operate.

Can't beat discount tire warranty. A lot of tire stores have 40,60,80 rebates going on for a select 4 tires do to traveling season being over. So if you want tires now is a good time to get em. Tires are also marked down as well

My headers finally came in from California. Now I've got to find a free 1.5 day to do the swap on my Land Cruiser before its due for an inspection in November.

my old exhaust pipes were beat to shit and leaking in a few spots. plus the old turbo elbow and downpipe were only 2.5" at the collector.

now everything's round and 3" from the turbo back.

Replaced upper radiator hose. It was just a fizzer, so it was leaking down the back of the radiator without hitting anything hot to make it steam so I didn't know until it started running hot tonight.

on the plus side... before i took it out for a spin, i used some threaded holes (originally for the cat heat shield) and an old strap of aluminum to hold up the test pipe and keep that flex section from hanging so damn close to the ground.

Sumfoo1 is closer, but still, nothing is being tested, and when you order your test pipe it is usually written somewhere n the order form or catalog as or road use only not testing purposes only

A test pipe is just a pipe. A catless DP is different only that it's a downpipe, not just a length of tubing made to replace a cat. Same idea with H-pipes, X-pipes, etc.

The difference isn't just subculture vernacular; it's rooted in the differences in how the exhaust systems of different vehicles are configured (transverse I-4 vs longitudinal naturally-aspirated V8 vs turbocharged flat-four, for example).

...and besides that, who gives a fuck?

it was for a few years while i was still at NCSU, but now that i'm out of school with a real job i have a '90s honda to get me to work and back reliably.

i just finished putting a built SR in it with a 2871r, n62 maf, 740ccs, etc, etc, etc. it's a pretty common SR setup. basically the biggest you can stretch the stock bottom-mount T2 placement. most guys see the 380-400whp mark at ~20psi, but i have yet to dyno mine to get exact numbers.

Spent Sunday trying to track down a coolant leak on the s2000 with no luck

It's losing quite a bit of coolant, too. Really bothering me.

No coolant in the oil and no oil in the coolant.

No blowing smoke.

No puddles when I park.

What the hell am I missing?

If it were a headgasket problem, especially with that much coolant loss, wouldn't at least one of these signs show up? Plus the plugs aren't fouled and compression is ok and it doesn't run like dick like coolant is just flowing into the cylinders.

I suck, I know.

No, that was some other dude. I've never let anyone drive this thing Well, except the dude that I bought new tires from.

And there was coolant under the car when I left work (in the dark) so that's awesome - maybe it's gotten bad enough to spot Never thought I'd be happy about that.

How much did you pay for this S2000 anyway? Given all the problems I really hope it wasn't more than $10k

With a puddle forming now, could it be a hose or the radiator?
