32nd in PA isn't impressing anyone, and that "youngest defense" excuse might fly at a school that isn't stocked with 5 star talent every year.

I would also like to know where he got this "youngest defense in a BCS conference" stat from...I see 1 freshman starting on their latest depth chart.

when you consider everyone above him is usually ranked every year, that's not bad. Hopefully he can get the team ranking to at least match his soon.

there is a permanently pissed off 1% of any fan base that includes fuck douches like uncsucks and forte and shit like that that'll never be happy with anything.

it's just their way of being fans.

the logic units in their brains say "if we aren't winning national championships every single year this coach/players/staff/AD's suck ass and fuck this university till they are gone. I'm gonna be a fuck cunt douche about online in every single post and laugh at our losses and be pissed off openly and be a douche ass about it until we get these fucks replaced and have a whole new staff in place"

that's why when we beat unc/maryland/clemson at the end of the year there were so many of these assdouches that came out of the woodwork. their #1 kryptonite is success and winning. it pisses the fuck out of them.

if we win a bowl game watch it's gonna be the shitstorm of the century for them here. hell just watch the next few posts. it's gonna get hostile real quick.

I don't like that rankings list. Lane Kiffen, Dabo Swinney, and Jimbo Fisher are all in the top 30 when seriously what have they accomplished? FSU under-performed all year long and Clemson is having a late season meltdown and finished in the middle of the pack last year.

Hurrah they give props to TOB, but I don't find this very accurate.

Lane Kiffin is 10-2 this year, why wouldn't he be rated higher than TOB? FSU had a TON of injuries early in the season, which is part of why they lost 3 straight games. Do you even watch college football?

^ well is that really Kiffen or is it the horse stable of athletes they have at USC? He followed up a 5-7 UT record with a personal 7-6 with some ugly losses.

And "this year" is always supposed to be the year Fisher does something, and as we all have seen, coaches (fairly or unfairly) have to live with injuries. I do think they would have kicked clemson's ass had manuel been playing.

Kiffin is 25-13 in the SEC and PAC12, TOB is 100-75 in the Big East and ACC...I don't think it's really an argument at this point. Sure he inherited plenty of talent at USC but he also inherited a postseason ban, which would undoubtedly make it harder to motivate the players.

^As far as I understand it, that list is ranking coaches based on their careers, not just this season.

I just don't see 3 years experience as enough to judge someone that highly, and this is the only season for him that has been noteworthy.

I'm not saying the guy doesn't know what he's doing, but he hardly has a track record, YET, of being considered someone really noteworthy as far as coaching.

He was only at Tennessee one season and went 7-6 with a not-so-stellar lineup outside of Berry and Hardesty.

you are clearly fucking retarded, or just don't read my posts if you honestly think I fit that description. I'm usually the last one to criticize or bail on a team or coach,or bitch and complain about a loss even. In fact, I'm one of the very few that has ALWAYS been pro TOB. You haven't seen me on here once bitching about the team this year as a whole--I was one of the few apparently that didn't expect much this season anyway. Just because I said it would be nice to be ranked on a regular basis instead of once every now and then (and I was referring to all the coaches listed above him, that consistently have their teams in the top 25--would that not be nice?), does not mean that "I'll never be happy with anything". Again, you are clearly fucking stupid and/or don't read my posts.

Well, considering what we're paying we're getting what we should, if not a bit more.

Always said the same about Sidney.

For the record I'm still securely on the TOB train.

I like TOB. I wavered a bit this year...but he had me solidly back on his side by the end of the year. I like the way he runs a clean program and that our teams seem to be very disciplined (very low in penalties).

Hopefully we miss the injury bug next year and we can play for an ACC championship.

^^^Shouldn't there be multiple entries for UNC football coach. Davis, Withers, and Fedora.

Maybe just combine them and put them in the #1 slot in money spent toward a football head coach.

I'm not sure exactly what that $1.3M is exactly. IIRC, TOB's contract allows him to make a considerable amount more than his base salary based on performance such as player school grades, number of wins, making it to the ACC Championship game, making it to BCS bowl, etc. Maybe that's how much he earned last year?

Kiffin is a dick, but he is a great coach. He completely turned around Crompton from one of the worst (literally) QBs in Div I to a fucking NFL backup in one year and he inherited a horrible team from Fulmer and pulled off a blocked kick away from a HUGE upset of beating a #1 Bama at home. And then he left the program in even worse shape haha.

He's a great coach, and more importantly maybe he has a great staff, including daddy

it means he put 1.3 mil in his pocket in 2010. the 2nd worst paid fball coach in the acc for 2010.

won the champ sports bowl against the #1 team in the big east and brought home a 9-4 record. even beat the highest paid coaches that year: jim grobe and paul johnson. (not to forget butch davis, also a highly paid coach)

That 1.3 is considerably more than his base salary. We don't pay him worth a shit.

That's the real reason NC State will never be a football powerhouse. There's no way the BoG allows us to open up the purse strings to bring in a top tier coach.

TOB has bee a bargain considering what he's getting paid. The same results would command more money at a school without restrictive salary.

Damn where did all the "extra" money for TOB come from? Way more than anyone else.

Also I find it funny that the lowest paid coach, Hugh Freeze, at $202,000 went 10-2 this year.

Best bang for your buck in the ACC

Randy Edsall got 1M per win
David Cutcliff got 590k per win
Jim Grobe got 380k per win
Jimbo Fisher got 340k per win
Paul Johnson got 300k per win
Frank Spaziani got 270k per win
TOB got 260k per win
Mike London got 225k per win
Frank Beamer got 210k per win
Dabo Sweeny got 180k per win

Al Golden has an undisclosed salary but at only 6 wins probably >250k per win I imagine.
UNC.... hmm... probably around 300k per win between all the coaches running that hick show

in conclusion we are getting a decent deal here considering what we pay

That data displays the frustration I'm sure a lot of uninformed people are thinking when it comes to college kids not getting paid for playing.

Too bad it isn't true, though.
