After scoring 20 goals last year in less than a full season at the NHL level, I'd like to see Sutter get more of a chance as a 2nd line guy. A solid veteran 3rd line center would take the pressure off of Sutter of being that shut-down/checking line center that we've used him as this year. I understand the logic in letting Cullen go, but someone in that same type of mold would do a lot to balance out the lines for this team IMO. It would also allow him to have linemates better than the Dwyer/LaRose/Tlusty type of players he's had on his wings this year.

Haven't totally given up, but we'd basically have to win out at this point and have Buffalo drop 2 in addition to the game against them Sunday so I've already started thinking about next year.

For next year I feel like letting Pitkanen and LaRose go and using that money (plus whatever else we have in available funds) to go after a top 4 d-man and top line forward should be JR's goal for this summer. We've needed those 2 things for a long ass time. I like both of them and LaRose is a big fan favorite, but they both make way too much money for what they bring to the table each night.

I'd also like to see guys like Boychuck/Dalpe start out on the 3rd line and have the opportunity to work their way up as the season goes on. Having a 3rd line with players like Tlusty, LaRose, Dwyer, etc. makes it so we really only have 2 lines that can score.
