I don't anything about this guy. but if we're going up against Charlotte, Clemson, ECU for him - I'd imagine his only real hang up with us would be potential playing time available.

Seems like a good option for us - an extra guard in the back court could always be helpful

just because he wasn't a star as a freshman doesn't mean he won't be any good for his entire year, especially with the benefit of sitting out a year wherever he transfers. his turnover and shooting numbers improved quite a bit later in the season after his string of DNPs

Even if you land Newman with a verbal, you're gonna have to sweat it out for months.

He won't be signing a LOI with whatever team he picks, so there will always be concern he could switch to another team or go play international.

don't most recruits actually wait till signing day before signing the LOI? i know that's the case in football. i guess in basketball there's signing periods, right?

or maybe i don't really know anything signing LOI.

Each sport has signing periods. You cannot sign before the signing period starts. Men's basketball is one week in mid November. After that it starts in mid April. Actually started two days ago on April 15th.

^^He did it for Frasier. He posted "F" "R" "A" "S" on each successive day from December 19-22. Left it there. Frasier committed on January 24th. If he did it for any other recruits, I don't know. I'm not going back any further in his twitter feed
