Washington leaving isn't bad news. It frees up a scholarship for someone who either is a good basketball player or may develop into one.

The chances of him becoming one at this point are virtually nil.

If mark Thomas was right on Hines, he has to be right on this one. I predict he leads us to a win in Chapel Hill for the second year in a row and then offers Roy a mustard bottle during post game handshakes. Roy flips out and throws a punch and gets suspended for five games.

I watched Newman in the Mickey D's game and it's just like his highlight video. He'd be hated by other fans similar to Psycho T and Redickulously Gay, while taking a Kobe-esque selection of shots, and probably bringing the NCAA on campus. But I'd take it, would be a fun ride.

lol, just watched a couple of Newman's highlights. There are more highlights of him talking shit to other players than playing basketball. Nary a pass to be found either. No doubt hes an offensive talent...just hope the coaches will be able to reign some of that in and focus that passion into something positive no matter where he ends up.

Newman is coming to NC State, if all goes as is right now.

Ingram had heavy State interest after Washington announced but still doesn't think he will get much play apparently.

The more I think about it, the more load Cat will have on his next year...but he may be the best PG in the ACC next year not named Paige.

Meh, "as it stands now" is that crap that they talk about right before we miss a target. People thought we were getting Jefferson right before he picked Duke.

Next week after Newman picks Miss. St. or Kentucky PP will have a bunch of posts from James saying, "the coaches thought they had him", "all signs pointed to us getting Newman", and "this kind of thing happens in recruiting."

Glad we have some optimism, but I think everyone is guessing. I'd just be happy if Newman set an announcement date, but since he isn't signing a LOI, not sure if that really will matter too much.

To be completely fair, is anybody besides Mark damn Thomas insinuating that we're leading for Newman? I don't read PP much, but I haven't seen much on twitter or the Rivals site about it aside from people speculating about Thomas' tweets.
