Yes just like when CJ tested the waters as long as he doesn't sign with an agent or submit formal paperwork declaring intent he can come back to college. He has until the NBA deadline of April 26th to submit that paperwork so we should know in the next few days.

By stating his interest and not doing paperwork/agent he can leave the door open for an additional 10 days (from 16th to 26th) to hear from NBA coaches on his draft potential.

none of this is nc state shit. none of us really think we have a shot with either ingram or newman. when they both predictably go elsewhere, that's not nc state shit. it's just a product of us not really being a serious contender until the lacey announcement, and we likely had too much ground to make up at that point.

nc state shit would be newman announces for us and then after a couple months or so flips to UK/MSU or goes pro.

right. i'll ask again since i didn't get an answer earlier - is anybody besides mark thomas actually predicting or reporting that state has a realy good shot with newman? almost everything i've read made it sound like newman was a real longshot and may even go play overseas. because i'm not getting my hopes up based on some tweets from mark thomas.

It could/should also hurt us for Brandon Ingram, because he definitely wanted to play with a top-notch point guard (which we had in Cat...and Duke didn't have in anyone). But Ingram was a long shot anyways.

To hear Duke people talk, this hurts us a ton with Dennis Smith Jr. They think that Thornton is a lock to be one-and-done and that this makes DSJr their #1 PG for the 2016 class so they already bank on getting him to partner with their other high profile recruits in Giles and Tatum.
