Well, not trolling yet. Lacey still has until I think the 26th to pull his name out and he has yet to sign with an agent.

I think the problem is half of the fan base is doom and gloom right now and some people are trying to remain optimistic. Thus the doom and gloom crowd see the optimist as trying to troll them or set them up for a letdown.

^^^ I already tried to say this, but no Lacey's eligibility is done regardless. He had until the 10th to withdraw, after that he forfeited any remaining NCAA eligibility as an underclassman.

^^ You are assuming Lacey filed papers with the NBA to enter the draft thus officially declaring for the draft. That is procedurally different than just holding a presser and telling people you will declare for the draft.

I assume you can say anything you want out loud, but that it is not binding until you do the necessary paperwork with the NBA or do another act to disqualify yourself as an amateur (sign with an agent or take money etc.)

That being said, I am not trying to say he isn't gone.

^^^Yep, he hasn't filed paperwork, so no he isn't gone yet.

Also there were "reports" he stopped going to class, but also reports that he is close to graduation and would have a small course load this season so it might not be an accurate "report".

I think Lacey is gone and that we miss on Newman personally, but I also understand that there are reasons to have some optimism regarding either of those players to end up playing for us next year.

Howland hired his main recruiter from LSU. They had some strong connections. So you've got dad's alma mater, fancy new head coach, and closest recruiting connection.

doubt it. they were 13-19 overall (6-12 in conference) last year and the only guys they're adding this year are a high-end 3* SG who's on the fringes of the top 100 (depending on site) and a low-end 3* forward. they're gonna need more guys stepping up than just Newman to make the dance
