I hate fashion these days. Everywhere I shop (top wise),, everythiing looks drapey and boxy.

I went to the mall in New Bern one time before I moved, and couldn't really find anything that fit. Now, I'm a pretty average sized guy (that's what she said), so you'd think that wouldn't be a problem, but I mostly had a wide selection of 42/32 pants and XXL shirts to choose from.

I had to get stuff at the PX on base, and up in Raleigh and Durham when I was up there visiting family.

Our society is getting fatter even faster than it's getting dumber.

^^^I've actually been pretty pleased with more offerings of things in my size in the last year or so. 30x34 jeans are what fit me best, and they used to be nearly impossible to find, but now some of the bigger retailers carry them.

on trend means you're wearing what's trending

there's a difference between trendy fashion and classic fashion

trends usually hang around for a few years (some don't even last that long) and then are phased out by new trends

for most folks (that care about this stuff) their goal is to mix a few trendy pieces into their wardrobe each season

I've definitely gone out more in last 4.5 months while abroad than I did for the previous year and a half that I was 21 before I left.

This thread constantly makes me laugh so hard, only to get depressed afterwards realizing that this is what I'm coming back to in two weeks. Do decent places in Raleigh actually exist? Give me hope, TWW!
