We played really good defense I thought. Shots didn’t fall. We got rattled a little at times with some ugly turnovers. But I don’t buy it as a bed shitting. We were 9.5 point dogs. We cut it to 6 a few times in the 2H. It was ugly at times but I refuse to call it a bed shitting. The better team won. We didn’t hit open shots, sometimes that happens. It sucks.

Purdue gave us the chance to punish them and make it close and we didn't capitalize. Personally, I think it's O'Connell that could've made the difference not just in how he plays but how the team moves with him on.

Assuming UConn wins tonight, I don't think Purdue stands a chance against them.

Stakes were high. But for me, we fucking made the final 4. We won the ACC. It sucks for the run to end. But I’m doing my best not to be terribly upset about this game. Edey’s size neutralized Burns (duh) but also Mo. We hadn’t been a great shooting team all year. Burns’ offensive consistency took pressure off our shooters during this run. And Burns was neutralized tonight and the shooters didn’t step up. And X factor like Mo or even Middlebrooks couldn’t crash the boards and clean up around the rim with Edey out there. Only way we were winning this game is if we were deadly from 3…and we just aren’t a great shooting team.

You know, we didn't keep it going, that's fine. But I'm optimistic and hope we can stay competitive going forward and build a solid record from the start. Hopefully this run has revived the program in some way

Historic run. These dudes are legends. I know we didn’t win the whole thing. But I remember going to games as a kid and my dad would point out past legends at the games (Cozell McQueen, Monte Towe, etc, etc). Might not feel like it now and I know the portal changes things. But MOC, Burns, Mo, Breon fucking Pass…they will always be State legends. All these guys have a place in history now. How fucking awesome to witness it.

If we would’ve made the same shots tonight that we’re going down over the last nine games we could’ve won. Regardless, we lost our starting PG, played against the best player in the country, missed so many open looks and still didn’t get blown out. I’m not getting into the definition of “shitting the bed” but it didn’t feel that way tonight. Just wasn’t our night

But guys, we ALL gave up on this team a month ago and holy shit, WE MADE IT TO THE FINAL FUCKING FOUR! What an unbelievable and fun ride this has been, I’m not sad we lost I’m sad we won’t see these dudes that I’ve grown to love over the last few weeks play again for the pack.

I’ve had friends, family and coworkers, many of whom I haven’t heard from in years, messaging me the last few weeks. I am so fucking thankful for this team and this run!

Agree this was a great run, sad it had to end. I was very impresses with our defense for the most part, especially Middlebrooks and the guards on Edey. We just couldn’t score the ball tonight except Horne. Missed lots of open 3’s and lots of up close opportunities that Edey’s height affected.

I’m sad it’s over, but so thrilled that it happened. What an unbelievable, mostly unprecedented, and completely unexpected run. I’m also very happy it wasn’t a massive blow out and we kept Eedy well under his average. We just couldn’t get the shots to go down. Still the greatest thing that I’ve ever witnessed as a state fan, and we are the ACC champions.

Well said DROD. I know it's just sports, but these last few weeks have been simply amazing. I was a little sad when it was over, but I'm still extremely happy and proud. And yeah, the connecting with old friends has been awesome.

As I've told multiple people, it kinda feels like I exhaled later Saturday night for the first time in several weeks.
