Eh, I'm ok with how the Newman thing shook out. I think we did look good for him as of a couple of weeks ago but apparently he has decided he wants to be a PG at the next level so he wanted to play mainly PG in college and wanted a definite starting spot. This is why Kentucky and NCSU were basically eliminated and MSU and Ole Miss bubbled to the top, he can start at either of those schools immediately.

I mean I can appreciate the kid doing what's best for him, but we really needed more of a 2/3 that could sub in at the 1. Would love to have had him, but think he would have been frustrated if he didn't get to play the 1 and think it would have gone poorly as far as team chemistry and attitudes.

^He's pretty good, saw a few games last year. Can definitely get his own shot off and shoots pretty well. A little on the short side, but good enough to for a backup PG. Too bad we can't use him this coming season.

not like we've had alot of success with those guys. Josh Davis, Jaqawn Raymond, Tyler Harris, The Dutch kid...all transfers/left the program. You've gotta recruit guys that can help the program and are gonna play. Our staff went after a number of guys for 2015, but due to our depth chart while we were recruiting them...they passed on us. Honestly, even now, we don't need day 1 starters. We need just a little depth. Papagiannis would be a fantastic addition down low and then a 5th year guard that can give Cat a breather and hit some deep shots. Other than that, we're in good shape.

Moxley and Hodge were definitely talking to Ingram with that. Newman is a lock to MSU, Ingram is the only one we still have an outside shot at. Duke is absolutely the leader given their roster, PT, and he really wants to play with Thornton. I actually think we had a quiet shot at Ingram before they got Thornton, he said he didn't want to play for a team without a great PG, and until they got Thornton, Duke was looking rough at the point.

I don't see us taking a PG at this point. We're all-in on DSJr for 2016, no way we take a PG this late that jeopardizes that. The ideal situation is to either find a 2-guard that can play the 1 like Lacey was doing, or we let hope Henderson can spell Barber when necessary.

It's going to take more than a bunch of tweets to sway Ingram from Duke.

Fuck that. We've had success going after bigger names. Why stop? There's nothing wrong with 3 and 4 stars. But we aren't gonna win any ACc titles with a bunch of 3 stars. Gottfried seems to be a really good motivator. His weakness, Ithink most would agree, would be X's and O's. He's made 2 Sweet 16s in 4 years doing it his way. I say we keep going that route.

And we've got a long list of 3 and 4 stars who transfer or don't work out. Of course you have to have depth. And we don't recruit exclusively 5 stars. Hell...Cat and maybe Abu (?) are the only 5 stars on this roster. But you have to get a few studs along the way

A guy like Ingram...stud player from NC is exactly who we should be going all in on.
