This seems to be the running theme in this thread...and happened with me too. I think employers can sense when its your dream/perfect job and it must really shine during an interview. I guess if it doesn't, then maybe they know its not your perfect job and give it to the person who absolutely loved the position.

Have some resumes out at Lockheed and the Chamber of Commerce here in town. Got a response back from the Chamber, had to fill out some sort of personality survey. But its a step in the right direction.

A permanent opportunity has opened up in my group at work. I was told that they would be looking at internal candidates first. If they decided to go outside, I would be the first that would speak with about the job. I've already put in my resume for it. Keeping fingers crossed.

Got an interview for basically my dream job towards the end of the month. Hope it goes well. Wish it was sooner though. My health insurance runs out at the end of July. I was going to aim for a lower caliber job to tide me over, but now I'm hesitant to until I know more about how this interview goes.

Called today to follow up on the phone interview last Monday, left voice message.....then I checked my email a hr later and I had received an invitation for a in person interview and all the docs that I need to send prior. The interview is not until July 26. This is the first time I did not receive a call setting up the interview, just a email asking for me to confirm the date and time which I did (only had once choice). This is another job with the feds (career advancement).

I have to send a writting example and I have the perfect one from work (saved for some reason, not sure why, would of been hard to find).

Anyone ever had to do a webinar on a general topic for an interview?? I have to do a 12-15 minute presentation, either over the phone, Skype, etc. Never had this situation before, as I have done several presentations with the aid of powerpoint in front of an actual audience. I feel like Skype would be the best bet, but any other thoughts on how to proceed with this would be much appreciative!!

I had to do a 5-minute lesson plan on the spot in an interview once. That sucked

I would definitely go with Skype. Over the phone seems like it would be a real bitch to execute.

gotomeeting is really buggy in my experience.

Anyone looking for work in the West Palm Beach area?? I can submit a resume with my company for jobs in the Gas Turbine and Aerospace industry - drafters and checkers. Must have experience with Unigraphics and fit check and tolerance stack up requirements.

Also positions open in Griffin, GA:
"***** has an opening for an engineering team member in Griffin Ga. This position will be responsible for oversight of development/implementation of designs to support product maintenance, New Product Introduction (NPI), quality and cost improvements, and custom design opportunities by ensuring customer requirements and correct application are being met. It will include resolution of complex design and product problem issues, and coordination with other engineering groups, support design projects, design reviews/research presentations, improve quality, reduce cost, and maintain technical expertise."
Pro/E, GD&T experience required.

PM me if interested in either.

I have a interview scheduled next Monday. But I lost contacts with the HR, neither email or phone call work. I need to settle down the exact time. What can I do? They only said they were very busy throughout the week.

^^^^I am not sure if being chatty interview is good thing.....if they are not asking you questions they might of already decided no based on the first 15 minutes and then you starting talking about the weather so they went with it.......you should just answer the questions and not add things, I am guessing you like to go on and on and on and on and on and on some more?

I'd say chatty in an interview like hers with a tiny department is very good. You have to work with these people every day and if you immediately show you can get along great then they'll remember you in a good way.

That's assuming the chatter stemmed from a question and what not, of course.

^ yep that's pretty much how it went. It's also a communications heavy position (ie paid to chat all day lol). Plus they're all women and you know how it is when women get together

I interviewed for a position and got maybe two words in the whole interview, which lasted 15 minutes. At the end of those 15 min the director offered me the job. He seemed more giddy about hiring me than I was about getting the offer. It took me a while for me to process that And when the official offer came in, I was pumped.

I have had all day interviews (with lunch) versus a second a third and even to the point of consulting for companies. These companies are odd and it confused me for a while. But when it comes right down to it, I will not argue or complain about an offer

^ that's awesome!

I had an awesome interview last month where the guy told me at the end that he wanted to hire me. The job came through a recruiter and I keep getting weekly updates of "they still don't have the funding to make the hire".

At least since it's a recruiter, they'll be able to tell me if the company actually says no.

Got two interviews this week, one for the job I mentioned before, and one other for tomorrow. That one had a crazy turn around time. I applied for it around 11:30pm on Friday and within about 10 hours from then they had called me and scheduled the interview for Monday morning... which means I should probably be heading to bed now. I've got a good feeling about both of these jobs, I may kick myself for saying this, but I believe 1 or 2 weeks from now, I'll be working at one of these 2 places.
