5/1/2006 9:57:50 PM
Paul Cousins will defend the president, saying the recording was soundshopped.
5/1/2006 9:58:19 PM

5/1/2006 10:00:17 PM

5/1/2006 10:01:02 PM

5/1/2006 10:01:14 PM
5/1/2006 10:01:19 PM
i think next week is gonna be one of those episodes where nearly all of the focus is on one event, instead of all kinds of stuff going on at once like usualwell that and maybe mrs logan's offing herself if she does
5/1/2006 10:01:28 PM
soundshoppednice
5/1/2006 10:02:03 PM
That had to be one of the better episodes I have seen in a long time. Plane is going to get shot down and a bunch of people are going to die. Recording is gonig to get broken, and Jack is going to get arrested at the crash site. Then have to break out and find out the men behind the curtain and get the pres from a different angle. Or something totally different will happen and I will be wrong. Either or Great fucking season
5/1/2006 10:05:02 PM
i like how the last third of the entire season has delt with exposing the president/catching the perps instead of trying to actually save people from the looming disaster.
5/1/2006 10:05:49 PM
well taking down the prez is a big deal
5/1/2006 10:06:35 PM
well, yeah. that's why i said i like it.
5/1/2006 10:07:41 PM
what looming disaster? didn't they destroy the nerve gas?also, doesn't the recording say something to the effect of "i never authorized you to kill david palmer"? seems like the prez would get in trouble, but not that much
5/1/2006 10:25:36 PM
are you fucking dense?
5/1/2006 10:26:34 PM
i guess, i have a bad memoryoh, and eat a dick
5/1/2006 10:30:36 PM
why doesn't he call CTU, hold the recording up to the mic of the phone, push play, and the other end be pushign record?
5/2/2006 1:07:17 AM
ingenious!look to the top of the pg ]
5/2/2006 1:18:12 AM
the death list; who will die by the end of the season?aaronwaynemarthaloganER guy henderson audreychloiebuchanon???
5/2/2006 3:34:50 AM
He cants just hold the recording up to the phone because it would not hold up under scrutiny. If you remember when Jack was meeting with the defense sec. he was asked if it was authentic. He needs the real thing and I assume that even with his pocket pc from star trek he wouldnt have the right cords to transfer the recording properly. Wheres a radio shack when you need one.[Edited on May 2, 2006 at 3:50 AM. Reason : ...]
5/2/2006 3:49:58 AM
i wouldnt assume he hasnt already somehow transfered the data to karen
5/2/2006 3:52:20 AM
i don't guess we'll be seeing the german agent again. i would've sworn he'd get involved again, but maybe he's up for another season
5/2/2006 7:54:56 AM
there is no looming disaster. that's why i said it was cool and different from, say, last season. get it?
5/2/2006 3:33:12 PM
now that you've clarified, yeah i get it. obviously i thought you were talking about this season
5/2/2006 4:55:11 PM
Jack has already survived a plane crash . . . as did Nina, remember? If they shoot the plane down, of course Jack will live. But everybody else is gonna die!
5/2/2006 8:56:19 PM
they're not gonna shoot down the plane
5/2/2006 9:00:57 PM
But he is going to lose the recording
5/2/2006 11:53:54 PM
just watched the episodeholy crap what a great one
5/3/2006 1:51:53 PM
^^^^ when?
5/3/2006 1:57:55 PM
maybe this was wrapped up somewherebut did all the nerve gas get blown up in the natural gas explosion?
5/3/2006 2:25:41 PM
^^i think it was season 2, when their plane crashed and then nina found a gun and the president gave her permission to kill jack if she tells them what she knows.. i think thats my favorite season.
5/3/2006 2:27:20 PM
^^ Yeah, I guess so. I think they've stated multiple times that there no longer is a national threat anymore
5/3/2006 2:44:56 PM
oh okthat wasnt a crash, to quote jack, "they think they can make a safe crash landing on a soft river bed locating in sector J"[Edited on May 3, 2006 at 2:49 PM. Reason : yes the gas is gone. ]
5/3/2006 2:49:10 PM
so I don't have to go back 20 pgs and re-read everything, can someone summarize who the little bald dude formerly of ER is and what's his role?
5/4/2006 12:18:40 AM
^ w/ the tiny glasses & the bluetooth earpeice?he's basically heading up 5-6 guys as the president's "intelligence team" who has been overseeing these operations and keeping the prez updated on their findingsnot a huge role yet
5/4/2006 12:23:54 AM
^ seems like that group is more in charge of the whole operation really
5/4/2006 12:40:49 AM
^^Oh wow thanks, I was way off on my guess. I figured that he was just another terrorist that would span the next two weeks.
5/4/2006 4:13:47 AM
ER guy could be the biggest mastermind of them all, the pattern of 24 is to introduce progressively important villains as the season goes on.
5/4/2006 4:34:37 AM
Yeah, i was wondering the same thing actually. I couldn't remember if/when I saw them/him before. Now a general gripe, which was exaserbated upon the (re?)introduction of yet another layer of behind the scenes villans. Is anybody getting tired of the cliche upon cliche that this season is turning out to be? Now I only started watching 24 in mid-day 4 so I'm not sure if all seasons have been like this (going to try to catch up this summer). I mean how many layers of cool and collected, impecibly dressed hi-tech wizards can there be? Do they all just sit around in industrially furnished darkened rooms wearing bluetooth headsets waiting for the President to call, giving each other suspicious sideways glances and cursing under their breath with clenched teeth? Then a pretty good line from Novak this week in his best throaty voice - "yes…. It's been a very strange night….." And I'd like to see the degrees that these guys have - you must have to be a PhD in computer science just to clean the floors at CTU. So off the top of his head Miles (name?) can "machine code a matrix binary…" to see any backdoor access to their servers. Did the writers just open up a programming dictionary and pick words at random? "machine code a matrix binary"? WTF - you're saying that this prick who's apparently #2 at CTU/DHS now can sit down a write a program in 1s and 0s (i.e. Machine Code), debug and run it in 3 minutes to view the "matrix binary" or what the hell ever? Give this man a job at Microsoft - he could be making a lot more money there! And how many times does Jack have to leave some pretty girl who's just been shot and/or sliced and diced claiming "i just don't feel comfortable doing this", only to run off 30 seconds later, leaving her obviously in peril. Then this weeks episode - it's already been covered that it's pretty ridiculous how easily Jack got onto the plane, just 2 minutes after he commented on how heavily guarded it was. So then he wants to talk to the pilot on the phone, so what does he do? He calls Chloe, who calls Hughes, who calls the FAA, who calls the Pilot, who is then routed back to Jack. Then it's up to Jack alone to convince the pilot that he's legit? Here's a fucking idea - how about the director of CTU tell him herself! And speaking of her, she "doesn't have the athority to keep that plane in the air". Oh really? You don't? You mean as the leader of the Counter Terrorism Unit and the dept of Homeland Security for the whole country you can't call up the FAA and say "umm, excuse me, i think there's a terrorist threat on this plane. You mind if we fly it around for a few more minutes"?Yea, i get it - this is pretty much a fantasy show, but coming into it I thought I was going to get at least some level of realism. …. Ok, nevermind. rant over. I'll go back to watching it as yet another form of mindless entertainment.
5/4/2006 6:38:34 AM
hahaha you can't THINK about everythinggotta let the adrenaline and testosterone do its thing once every week.
