Not sure I'm too upset here. It will be good for somebody else to get his spot in the lineup. He has 2 points in his last 13 games and really hasn't done much since coming back.

yeah, I do kind of feel the same way. Maybe some good will come out of this with Jokinen getting more visible PT, and Sutter getting more minutes in general.

Ryan Bayda... has he done anything noteworthy in the last 4 months? He is invisible to me out there, and a forward shouldnt be THAT transparent. Maybe he has lost the hunger that made him a serviceable player.

Supposedly Kaberle is going to be sent to Albany then recalled so that someone will claim him on re-entry waivers. Then Tomas Kaberle will waive his NTC for a trade to the team that claims him.

Hopefully this is the case. I wouldn't mind seeing Kaberle gone, even if we have to pay half his contract. He looked like he turned the corner until he broke his foot in the Kings game, and then it's been all downhill from there. I wish him luck when we do so and that he ends up in the Western Conference so we don't have to see him or his brother at all.

So here is the deal for the realistic outcome of games this week.

Tues: Boston over Carolina, Buffalo over Toronto, New Jersey over Florida
Thurs: Carolina over NY Islanders, Philadelphia over Buffalo, Chicago over Florida
Fri: Carolina over Tampa Bay
Sat: NY Rangers over Buffalo, Boston over Florida

That would put the Canes in 8th place by the end of the week, assuming rankings are worth a damn. Of course, Buffalo could slip up against Toronto (it happened back in Dec) or we could beat Boston (the whole "we beat sharks, sharks beat bruins" logic) and go for #7 spot.

What a class act. One of my favorite canes of all time. One of my favorite moments is seeing him jump around like a kid when we won the cup. Funny that he's known as one of our best stay at home/shut down defenders, when he came into the league as an offensive defensmen....he's got some moves as well.

Definitely the classiest of the classiest.

My best memory, I'm gonna say it may have been Game 1 of the 06 Finals and the Oilers were on a powerplay. Wesley blocks a bomb from the point off his leg, and can barely stand. The puck slides back to the point and here comes another one, which he threw himself in front of and blocked as well, collapsing to the ice.

I remember I didn't really like him when the team first moved here because I was hung up on stats and all about the offensive defensemen like Lidstrom, Coffey, and Ozolinsh. He was the real embodiment of a hockey player, though. Tons of heart and guts.

We're gonna be in this playoff race a while yet. The fact is you've got 5 teams (Boston, New Jersey, Washington, Philadelphia, and Florida yes Florida) that I would say are pretty good money to go, then for the remaining 3 spots you've got 5 teams (Rangers, Montreal, Buffalo, Carolina, Pittsburgh) that are trying as hard as they can to miss, but 3 of them have to go.
