it's really a shame that such a shitty season was required to effect Rafa's getting fired

but hey, if Rafa gets fired, then this Liverpool season was, in a sense at least, a success...we're not gonna win the league with Rafa there, so we took a step in the right direction

Rafa's not going to "get fired"

They'd have to buy out his contract to do that, and they can't afford to do that.

The more likely scenario is that Juve have already signed him up, but Rafa threatens to stay at LOLverpool unless they pay him some sort of severance fee (that would be less than buying out his contract).

It's pretty shrewd on his part, but it's also a major dick move.

yeah, I guess that makes sense...they gave him that 5-year contract extension last year

which was pretty fucking stupid, for me...I mean, his credibility was at best shaky, even then

like going all-in with 10j or something

that sucks about him going to juventus, though...I like juventus

what makes you say that? from what I've seen, his m.o. is to start players who are inferior to players he has on the bench, play good players in positions at which their skill will not be optimized, and sub out top goalscorers in tied games

you're not going to prosper anywhere with that sort of coaching style

on the other hand, his teams do usually have great defenses...that's definitely a must in Italy

what a shameful year juventus has had, especially after the diego and melo signings coupled with a blistering start

^^^His entire ethos is a defensive one - he wouldn't know how to produce a free-flowing, attacking team if his life depended on it.

Italy is the home of the horror that is Catenaccio. I think Rafa will take to throwing 11 men behind the ball like a duck to water. Just my opinion.

I, too, agree that Rafa's style would be better suited for Serie A

everyone they buy will be over-rated, well maybe not all will be over-rated, but all will def be overpriced. they are paying more than the top clubs in the world would pay, and they are paying salaries way more than any top club to some of the most mediocre of players too...i would hate to see how much pablo zabaleta makes for man city, but i bet its equal or more than some of the best right backs in the world

i wonder whats gonna happen to the bellamys and irelands of that club. i wouldnt mind seeing stephen ireland picked up by united...cant believe they arent playing him

who else do they have that's the same type of player as Bellamy? Honestly, I think he'd be a perfect compliment to Nani/Rooney and you always know what you're going to get with him. He'd be better than somebody like Joe Cole who could break down at any point in the season

I can't see United getting rid of Berbatov considering how much money they paid for him and how much they'd likely be able to get for him from somebody else so they're probably not going to be throwing out mad cash on another forward. Bellamy could probably be had for a decent price if Citeh goes out and gets a bunch of big name guys like Torres...

doubt he'd leave a non-CL team for another... Milan maybe?

Still think Chelsea/City would be more likely if he's leaving

I think Torres ends up at City

Madrid wont buy him unless they get rid of Higuain, and no one else could afford him, really.

Actually I heard that the Battery wanted Torres REAL bad.

They're offering up one large bag of Funyuns per week in addition to a staggering $233 / week.
