Funny thing to note:

Its not statistically a bad idea to risk fouling a guy in the act of shooting a 3 when you are up by 3. It is hard to make 3 consecutive free throws in a pressure situation.

Math-wise if its a 75% ft shooter, not considering pressure there is a 42% chance of him making three consecutive free throws.

However, most college players can make uncontested threes at least 50% of the time.

I will be called crazy for this post but its statistically sound and showed here.
