Quote :
"oh yeah, burke threw another 6 td's on friday...so he's almost up to 2000 yds this season with 37 tds and 2 ints. Not too shabby..."

Incorrect. I know Hendu posted that in premium, but he was posting the stats from the game two weeks ago (vs. East Jessamine instead of vs. West Jessamine)

His actual stats:

42-12 win over West Jessamine. Lexington Catholic's 34th consecutive District win.
Burke completed a TD pass for his 30th consecutive game.

17 of 26 - 65.4%
238 yards
4 TDs
0 INTs

5 rushes
26 yards

Season Stats:

123 of 204 - 60.3%
1958 yards - 280 avg (7 games)
35 TDs
2 INTs

40 rushes
244 yards
1 TD

What happened to us getting Brandon Jefferies from UT? Did we get him and he's just not elligible yet? or did that fall through completely

We could use him this year.

That fell through at the last minute, IIRC. He's not on the roster on gopack.

put him on the other side of the line and we'll see which one false starts first on each play.

AJ is good, he is just a walking penalty flag. He has had a good year so far this year. Last year was pathetic. This is a good commit for us though, he wanted to go to Miami, but i think his brother being here helped us out a lot.

aj is a good corner i think....he doesn't get a lot of stats or int's i think mainly b/c he is pretty good in coverage and the guy he is guarding is not getting open all that often....while he is a little prone to a penalty, that one last week on him for holding was ridiculous...c. johnson just tried to bowl him over

6'3-6'4ish, skinny. Another Geron James.

Should be a good one. Supposedly one of the best WR's in NC. He loves the Pack too.... he's not one of these guys we take just because Miami and FSU don't offer. He committed to us over VT (who I think had offered).

He has already said for Pack fans to call him "Big Game 2". He said Torry is his role model and will be the 2nd "Big Game" to play for the Pack as a WR.

Welcome to the Pack, Owen.

And BTW, We need Brent Schaeffer. Burke should do well, and hell... Stone might be the man. But we need Schaeffer.

We signed like 5 linemen in last year's class, if they were so good why arent they seeing the field? Curtis Crouch, Andy Barbee, Garrett Kline and so forth.

who said they were so good?

On paper, only Crouch and Kline looked like possible contributors this year. 2 years from now the rest might be ready to really help us out.

it's harder for linemen to crack the starting lineup because there are always guys bigger, stronger and know the system better at the school already. the only way you start is if you're a freak of nature (ala Mario Williams) with a body fit for the NFL already. but give them a year with our strength and linemen coaches and they'll be ready to contribute next year and onward.

depending on your calendar, October 25th might have been over the weekend.

probably not, though.

And there's another one coming in pretty soon. Steve Williams said that some kid committed to his recruiting coach but has yet to talk to Amato, so he won't drop any official announcement until that happens. So we should probably hear a new name tonight.

New commit!!

nate irving, not a very highly ranked kid, but he is an NC kid and he has some good physical nubers for a linebacker

irving is having a great season, I am sure his ranking will rise after the season is over, he is also in the shrine bowl, and has interesting size, he could be a futuire safety, but hes a little tall

he has excellent speed for a linebacker...if he adds 20-30 lbs. and maintains his speed he will be a very good linebacker...tulloch has proved you can be very good w/o the height

Not to be a "girl" about this or act like I don't know anything, but wouldn't recruits be interested in us more because they have the opportunity to start or because we need good players. They could be playmakers here and I think that’s obvious when we have big guys like Andre Brown and Toney Baker be freshman and have the starting position. I think that would impress me anyways...

this is the guy that would be a huge get: Adam Patterson. could make an immediate inpact on what will be our depleted d-line: this is what espn recruit tracker says about him:

Patterson brings a combination of athletic ability and toughness to the defensive line position. He has a good first step and can quickly get into blockers. He uses his hands very well to create separation and has the upper body strength to stun blockers when he delivers a punch. He has excellent feet; he can break him self down, keep his feet buzzing, and get restarted to close down on the ball. He can penetrate gaps and be disruptive in the backfield. He is physical at the point of attack and has the strength to hold his ground versus single and double team blocks. However, his strength is quickly disengaging blockers and staying on the move. He is a strong pas rusher that can quickly get to the shoulder of blockers and get his hips flipped to turn the corner. He plays with a good motor, pursues well, and can move through the trash to make plays on the perimeter. He displays the ability to read blocks and locate the ball. Patterson is a player that can give you production at several positions along the defensive line and has the ability to cause offenses fits on the college level.

[Edited on November 30, 2005 at 6:10 PM. Reason : d-line not o-line]

^^^yeah, we should have immediate playing time available for talented recievers, QB's, offensive linemen and linebackers. We are pretty deep at TE, DT, and RB. Our secondary is semi-deep.

Most HS kids aren't afraid of competition, and a lot of them think they are gonna start wherever they go regardless of who is on the team. Thats why programs like Miami frequently send backups to the NFL.

Just a regular high school.
Same place John Dunlap and Octavius Darby came from.

Florida has a lot of really good kids that are unranked. There's just too many kids for not enough analysts...

According to an old interview:

"Alabama came to the school last Wednesday to visit us and they offered me a scholarship," "

"Tennessee also said they are close to offering"

I know Nebraska had a heavy interest too, but backed off for some reason. Don't think they offered
