To be fair, watching Princeton offense run basketball for any extended period of time can take years off of your life, so his assessment isn't too far off

We got beat by UNC by about a combined 30 points that year and were favored in both games. It broke my heart. The 2nd one wasn't even competitive. I knew that when the likes of Bobby Frasor, David Noel and Rayshawn Terry could come into the RBC center and outright dominate us from the start, then Herb had very little chance of ever beating Roy Williams. I didn't go to work the next day and cried for two hours after the game. I saw some UNC fans at Jaxx and politely told them to leave. After a week of depression and desperation, I sent Herb a hand-written letter telling him there were a few openings at other schools where he would best be suited. I told him how much his teams have broken my heart over the years and how we would never succeed in tournament play with his level of enthusiasm. I told him he had hurt me worse than any woman in my life up to that point, because I really believed it. As I took 7 years on a trip through the gojd and bad after Herb's absence, through many therapy appointments and doctor visits, I feel finally ready to move on. His presence has left a lasting scar of boring offense, scoring droughts leading to losses, 10 point halves against unranked Big East opponents, European player recruiting as a priority, expressionless press conferences, lackluster tournament play, and fanbase division, among many other things that can leave its brand on you in ten years. I feel that when you're in a relationship with someone and they aren't listening to you, you have to let them know its a concern. He never listened to me or the rest of the fan base. And for that I have no problem with him out of my life.
