Yeah, so back to something relevant. Is the region 2 DVD release the only one which will pack the entire second season in one set? I really don't care so much about the extra features on the American releases. I do try to pay for things which I feel are worthy, but when I got the whole season 1 + miniseries for less than $50 and now I'm expected to pay almost $90 for season 2.0 and 2.5, I really feel like this is just far too greedy. Barring a solution I've missed, does anybody know if there will be any "new release" specials on combining the two sets? Best Buy does this every once in a while, but they're still selling 2.0 at $40 as of today...

ok..I stand corrected..there will be a mid season break..however..it will only be one month as opposed to the normal 4 month breaks that scifi does

Where were you this summer? What sort of break do you call that?

And Axelay, you can find all of Season 2 as a box set on amazon.co.uk. But, of course, it isn't Region 1. My point being that they're likely going to sell them together here at some point. So don't freak out and buy both now if you don't have to (unless you're like me and need your fix omg).

^ Yup. I saw the region 2 set but it's already £34.99 ($65). I am definitely jonesin' for a fix, but I'm thinking more along the $50 fix rate and not much more than that. I may just see if my friends are going to bite down and get 2.0 and 2.5, and then I can burn them.

They use old-ass submarine phones. That's hardly a new technology.

I mean, it seems in most sci-fi that aliens go up the technological ladder faster than humans, so I don't see why it couldn't be in the past or current.

yea but the galactica was being retired. All the old tech was designed to make it harder for the much more advanced cylon computar machines to h4xor a battlestar's gibson. As the cylon thread diminished, they created advanced ships. Which resulted in them getting h4xed and blowed up.

So all the other stuff was new tech, the galactica is just old.

As far as I can tell, the only difference was the networks. He opted out of using those. That wouldn'tve changed the fucking phone- look at Pegasus and you see the same phones.

Well right, but that doesn't mean they weren't on a slower or faster technological track than we are currently. We have no idea what's going on on Earth while the show's events play out.

no, ^^ is right. there is no way to know what earth time it is.

the cylon gods could have made the 13 colonies 4 million years ago relative to now, or 1000 in the future.
