God its really not about whether we win or lose this game.

It's retarded to say "if we cant beat Texas today Herb should be fired"


Its also retarded to say "if we beat Texas today Herb should be our coach forever"


Its a body of work not a single outcome.

If we go balls out today and play to win but come up short, how can you hold that against Herb? If Texas shoots 10-14 from threes and they arent all wide open, that is not a knock against Herb.

If Texas goes 8-30 from the FT line and we win, that is not a reflection that Herb is the best man for the job.


All Im asking for is that we dont lose in the same fashion that we ALWAYS lose in. Either we get a big lead and just sit around and wait for someone to take the game away from us or we just never show up in the first place.

i think herb sees what other coaches do, and if it works he tries to do it himself.

example, when unc is playing shitty, roy will take out the starters, let the bench carry the team for a bit, then bring them back in, and the starters do great. herb tried it when we had that great run in the first half, put the "good" players back on, and nothing happened.
