If she can't pay, then she can't pay. But they can execute on her and take her things, and keep the judgment going for a while so that if she ever does get any significant amount of assets, they can (and should) take them.

What they should do is insist that criminal charges be brought against her for false reporting. The prosecutor won't do it, however.

I have heard of two incidents (one as far away as Cali) where people have been called racists for wearing a Duke hat, and the other person (in NC) had a Duke shirt on.

I also like how everyone is all of a sudden saying that Duke is full of rich/racist/whites, when actually Duke is approximately 57% white and 11% black.
For the record..
NC Central is 86% black and only 8% white.
NC State is 80.1% white 10% black.
UNC is 74% white and 11% black.

Everyone is blowing the race issue up and saying that Duke is nothing but racist rich kids, when actually they are one of the most diverse local colleges. It's kinda hard to get people to believe that Duke is nothing but racists when they accept a greater percentage of minorities. Now if Duke was 90% white and .6% black (St. Augustine is that except black/white) I could possibly agree that they are racist.

Also, I haven't been following this too closely, but where is the idea that people will riot if someone is not arrested coming from? It's pretty clear a lot of people have been having to eat their words, and black or not, if you're wrong, you're wrong. No need to riot.

edit: I know 4 people that go to Duke, one of them is black, and 2 of them I would consider mildly racist (one is a white guy from Costa Rica though, and generally hates Americans).

no offense, but white people can generally recognize sterotypical white trash. I mean I ain't going to argue about say a couple of <insert non-white race> guys beating up a typical college girl.
