They have flashing glasses symbols at the bottom of the movie to tell you when to put them on or take them off. The symbols are not very clear in some parts because they are overlayed on the film but it is pretty easy to tell when there is a change.

Well kinda. They poo a highly watery type of poo, that way when Superman uses his freeze breath on the cape and punches it, his radioactive toxic waste poo comes off easy.

overall this is a good movie, nothing amazing

kate bosworth recieves 6 SURELY FATAL blows to the head. i dont get why they made her abuse so comic.

there was clapping at the main 'twist' -- clapping at the end. some people probably will love the movie. others will complain that it was too formulaic. theres great art, dialogue, acting, scenery and use of metaphor.

^agreed, that CGI in the film is one of the best if not the best i have ever seen. It was hard sometimes to tell if it was him or a computer animation.

Thank you Bryan Singer.

This fanboy is satisfied. Three years wait was well worth it.

Flame me all you want; I'm not going to visit this thread again.

yea, the use of CG here sets a new standard--the action shots were so engaging. there was so much of it, time wise, and in every shot there was incredible attention to detail, though a few cases were it wasnt right, like the cape.

the major issue with the movie is that the premise isnt radical enough to make this movie truly great. we've all seen this before. we all know what the next movie should center around, but i wont say it because it would be kind of a spoiler.

saw it tonight. AWESOME MOVIE. I thought everything about it was EXCELLENT. I loved how they held true to the format of the Reeve movies.. Brandon Routh was awesome as supes, Spacey was a dead-on Luthor.

I'm probably going to see it again. I got chills in some of the scenes.

I'm glad you guys all enjoyed it.

like 75% of the people I talked to felt it was way too slow, long, boring at time. Easily could have been half an hour shorter.

this movie should NOT have been longer. given how expansive the plot was, the 2.5 hrs was fairly justifiable. i dont see how you could call this movie boring at times.

For me, the film touched onto a nostalgic chord of my childhood. I mean I used to (like most kids) strap on a red cape and run around my house like superman; saving the day.

But the great thing that Bryan Singer did with this film, was that he also re-created the myth that speaks to the adult world.

It was a long movie, but at no point did I feel bored watching it.

I can't say the same for Xmen, LoTR, or the Star Wars movies (which were long AND had boring parts).

This was a really good movie though. Not as cheesy as the trailers made it out to be, well directed, well paced. If you liked any of the comic book movies, especially Batman Returns, you'll like this one for sure.

My only complaint is that they seemed to dumb down the dialogue noticeably in a lot of areas.

So, how much is that worth nowadays? I remember the huge frenzy back in the day when I was into comics. People were lined up for blocks to buy this one. The stores were even charging 2 and 3 times the cover price. They paraded people all over the news saying things like "I bought this and it will pay for my kid's college education when I sell it."

As a collector I just shrugged it off. The books that had the real value were ones that were before the craze caught on, or books that no one wanted when it was widely available but suddenly wanted when it wasn't, or were in limited supply. The Superman Dies book had none of that. Plus it's not like he wasn't going to come back from the dead and devalue the "death" comic. The only money to be made was by the comic shops selling them for whatever they wanted to sell them for at the time.

According to ComicsPriceGuide.com (http://www.comicspriceguide.com/p-indiv.asp?comicTableID=247863), about $12.50 (assuming that is the 1st printing of the standard edition and in mint condition... they did 5 printings of that issue, printings 2-4 of the standard addition are only worth $3.00 mint). The black bag edition they have listed at $26.00. I remember going right after school, or maybe at lunch and being upset because they were already sold out. I got the 1st printing of the cover shown above and months later got the black bag edition for $25. So I've made $1 I think comic collecting as an investment is dead.

Collecting as an investment isn't dead, but the speculators market of the 1990s is dead, and may God damn it to Hell. You know who really killed Superman? Everyone who bought that book thinking its value would skyrocket. Good luck getting cover price for it, if you ask me.

I walked out of the movie yesterday with a big stupid grin on my face that didn't fade for an hour or so. When I think of the movie now, I still get a big stupid grin on my face.

I fucking love you, Bryan Singer.

And Brandon Routh nailed Christopher Reeves mannerisms and speech. Several times during the movie if I had closed my eyes, I would have thought that it was Reeves returned back from the dead.

I'm gonna go see it again tonight or tomorrow.

Damn straight. Growing up in that era of comics pretty much ruined them for me by the mid to late 90's.

I saw it lastnight at the Imax in 3D and I must say I was very impressed

it was typical Bryan Singer, not enough action & alot of story, but I thought they did an excellent job

i will be the first to say that I severely doubted Brandon Routh as Superman, however I stand corrected

he did an outstanding job both as Clark and Superman

3 stars

One thing about Routh that bothers me, although it isn't his fault, is that his voice is almost identical to Tom Cruise's. It's just weird.

I liked it but there were a couple distractions. Kumar being one, and the 3D aspect being the other. IMAX is a little intimidating at times with the visual overexposure, and having a completely different guy as Superman took getting used to, even though I think he did a pretty good job. Now that I've gotten used to him as Superman it'll be nice to watch a regular showing where I can get more into the overall movie than focusing so much on the visual.

^I didn't hear that, I think b/c Tom Cruise doesn't necessarily have a really distinguishable voice like say, Sean Connery or Nicholas Cage.

saw it last night - i think it was a bit too obvious that the kid was his and not richard's

also how do you guys think richard is going to die now - b/c he's too nice for her to leave him or something like that - he's gotta be killed by some crazy force

also i think spacey should have been made to be a little darker and more evil - he didn't appear to have that POWER i was looking for

where was the fresh water on his rock stored at for drinking water and whatnot? he could have been taken over by the nigerian army - bad plan

wait. what.

many past lex's have been complex, struggling between good and bad. this lex wanted to kill billions.

maybe you mean, spacey was just kinda likable and not casted correctly?

the problem is that without spacey we wouldnt have gotten the awesomely delivered lines....like "WRONG"
