ive offered to pay before and it usually ends up with me getting a talking to about how im a lady and he wants to take care of me etc. so i always make sure to thank him for everything he does for me.

exactly. i don't ever want to give a girl a reason to stick around if she doesn't like me for who i am. when you buy girls tons of stuff and always pay for everything, you're setting yourself up to get used. you can't know whether they're staying with you because they really like you or whether it's just convenient because of what you have to offer them materially. until i get to the point where i know the girl likes me for exactly who i am, i won't go above and beyond as far as paying for stuff outside of occasional dates. maybe some people are just afraid the girl won't like them for who they are so they feel like giving the girl a little incentive will help their cause.

i only read the first page...and don't necessarily agree about the above statement. i'd say that every couple is different in their dynamic and you can't make a hard and fast rule for anything when it comes to girls and boys dating.

i do think that communication is key and if you're having issues about something like this, you should feel free to speak with her about it. maybe even think about WHY you feel like you guys need to go dutch during lunches/group dinners...i'm betting it has to do more with the fact that she's not very giving with her money and you feel that you've been more than generous and can't afford to give any more than what you do on "dates". or maybe it's because you feel like you take care of her in a number of ways above and beyond picking up her tab during a "date", but you don't feel that it's reciprocated by her.

my advice: do some thinking, figure out what will make you happy and will solve this problem both at the same time and talk to her about it!
