Beast was one of the original members of the X-Men, but he didn't turn blue and furry until much later. He created what he thought was an antidote to his mutation, but taking it turned him blue and furry. Or something like that.

i still think havok needs to show up and say "professor, my brother isn't dead"
they go to find him, he's in a cocoon

I just watched X-Men 2. It's quite a bit better than both 1 & 3, of course. It sucks that they changed the phoenix imagery in the last one. In 2, phoenix was fiery, as she should be. 5/28/2006 4:37:36 PM |

Allright, so I've got a question.
So the Prof transferred his mind into the comatose person. But the prof shouldn't have powers anymore, should he? Since the x-powers are genetic mutations? Unless the coma guy has latent mutant abilities, but they'd still unlikely be what the professor had.... 5/28/2006 11:02:47 PM |

his powers came from his mind, right? So technically, if he transferred his mind, he transferred the most important part. maybe that's the answer...i have no clue 5/28/2006 11:11:20 PM |

I stopped reading shortly after Onslaught, so I only know about them up to that point.
Rogue was romantically involved with Gambit moreso than anyone else, but she was also somewhat involved with Magneto (in the Savage Land) for a while before Gambit. Magneto devisd a way to use his powers to come into physical contact with her without actually being sapped by her powers. The relationship played out quite a bit further in the Age of Apocalypse where she and Magneto had a child together. The only time I can recall Rogue and Iceman being together was not romantic. Just before the events of AoA, she really planted a big one on Gambit and absorbed quite a bit of his power and personality. She fled the mansion and Iceman tagged along with her in an effort to prevent her from getting into too much trouble.
As for Kitty Pryde, she was almost always romantically connected to Colossus as far as I know. I don't recall her ever having a relationship with Iceman...5/29/2006 12:33:58 AM |

In mainstream it was hinted at that there was something between them, they were close friends that might have been more but they were never an actual thing. In AoA there was the prelude stories that suggested Bobby had a thing for her and was the one that actually figured out a way to touch her first, but couldn't really man up about it esp with Gambit and Mags fighting over her. Apparently in Ultimate timeline there was a love triangle between Bobby/Kitty/Rogue, however Ultimate comics suck.5/29/2006 9:25:29 AM |

Say, what book was that? I know I have all of the "core" AoA books, but I think there have been a few additional ones (i.e. Tales From the Age of Apocalypse) to come out over the years since. Out of all the years I ever read X-books, the AoA is bar none my favorite story arc. There's a Marvel Legends AoA Wolverine coming out in the next wave, so I hold out hope that we might someday see more AoA Legends figures. (Especially Nate Grey and Holocaust.)5/29/2006 2:07:42 PM |

As I watched the credits, I saw one listing for "Omega Mutant" but not Omega Red. I think this might have been referring to one of the characters with an omega tattoo at the community meeting in the church. Not entirely sure, though. I know I didn't see anything resembling Omega Red anywhere in the whole movie, but I was also really surprised to see Psylocke listed in the credits. 5/29/2006 3:32:06 PM |

There was a two issue series called Chronicles of the X-men that came out during the original crossover, it covered the earlier part of Magneto's X-men and why Weapon X, Jean, Collosus and Kitty left.5/29/2006 3:32:54 PM |

the guy with the stabby tentacles coming out of his arms that he shot at wolverine was omega red... & purple hair was pyslocke. i at first thought that the fast moving chick might be her… but I think she was calisto (the one with the lip ring) who was sort of the leader of the rag tag mutants before magneto came along. The group of mutants in the run down place early own I think was supposed to be morlockish. Storm did her part by killing the leader of the morlocks calisto by killing her with electricity while slammed against that fencing. Storm also became a leader of mutants… but rather than the morlocks she took over xaviers school.
i liked what they did... several allegories and references... but its a new story line that fits with a movie format. 5/29/2006 3:33:07 PM |

ok i'm at about 15 minutes left right now
heres what i've noticed
the angel dude wasnt in as much of the plot as i thought
the movie seems short(only about 95 minutes)
the phoenix thing was like way less than i thought it was gonna be, and they really didnt explain much more than "her telekinetic energy formed a protective cocoon around her"(which was pretty weak)
juggernaut didnt do as much shit as i thought
wolverine still thinks he can fuck up magneto even though the dude is made of metal(but the whole tricking him at the end thing was pretty good)
apparently magneto can lift objects weighing into the hundreds of tons because i'm pretty sure the golden gate bridge is heavy as fuck
the cyclops thing was pretty cool until it ended like a minute later
the professor x/jean grey duel was pretty awesome
the casting for beast was good i think
i wish storm would just fuck people up with lightning bolts
rouges role in the movie sucks
why the ice dude didnt freeze the fire dude and shatter him into a million pieces "t-2" style i will never know
the whole "jean i know you can hear me, come out" shit was pretty old like REALLY quick
watching as i type...the rouge thing at the very end is so gay as well..."i know, its what i wanted" - let me just kill myself now
the first half is way better than the second half in my opinion...the second movie is way better than the third in my opinion
i'd still fuck the hell out of rebecca romain stamos(sp?)

I thought the movie was great, not as good as X2, but awesome nonetheless. Some parts were way melodramatic and it was over a little too quickly, but it had great special effects and decent acting and character development.
I'm sure someone's already mentioned this, but the part where Angel breaks free is like the gayest 30 seconds of cinema ever. 5/29/2006 6:25:28 PM |
