ok so i watched this tonight with another neuro nurse and a neurosurgeon. We tried not to blast all of the mistakes too much. But the hypothermia saved her heart and her brain, although in real like she would have had a pretty serious anoxic brain injury from being down so long. also they extubated her too soon, she wasnt even awake yet. no one wakes up from that shit alert and oriented x4.

Best way to watch these shows is to skip one every other week. I honestly didn't catch last week's and didn't feel like I was missing out. Same thing with Men in Trees and Desperate Housewives.

Unless you're talking about the scene with Derek where she asked if her mother was dead (they don't really spell out how long it was between when the revived her and that scene). oh, i have a grip, but as a healthcare professional i am also aware that the average joe will watch this show, and similar shows. The average joe will get ideas into his head about what happens after a long code situation. you cannot fathom how people can have such false hope. So i hope that someone on here will read what i wrote about that situation. I also hope that if they have to make a decision about a loved one, they wont make it based on what popular tv shows portray.

It boils down to this, if FOR ANY REASON a carolina donor services rep comes to talk to your family it is one of the ways we tell people that WE DONT THINK YOUR FAMILY MEMBER IS GOING TO MAKE IT. nurses and physicians dont initiate organ donor conversations. But on my floor if a person comes in with a glasgow coma score of 5 or less (7 or less is a coma, a pencil has a GCS of 3) then CDS is contacted.

i could go on and on, but i will get off my soapbox now.

ok, I watched it with my wife last night, until 10:30 of course (Warriors v. Mavs). We both agreed that the spin off was ok, but the "surfer dude" that those whores were drooling over was not attractive in the least.

It was almost laughable how UNattractive that guy was.

Agreed. The LA stuff was horrible. I hated how we were thrown into the mix of things - it's like we were supposed to know wtf was going on with all of these characters who were mixed into Addison's former life.

I love how ABC recycles its actors. Taye Diggs' previous show didn't make it, so let's throw him in the mix with this supposed spin-off of a highly successful show! YEAH!

After 9:30? Meredith's stepmom goes into septic shock and dies in surgery. Her Dad flips out and smacks her. Meredith goes back to her house and drinks w/ Izzie and Karev.

I believe that ABC announced Private Practice (the spinoff) over two months ago. I'd seen it in passing on gossip sites, entertainment magazines/shows (ones that plenty of people read/watch), heck I even remember seeing the announcement of the Grey's spinoff on news sites (CNN, MSNBC, etc., since they all have entertainment sections). No, there weren't any commercials on ABC (at least that I saw), but I believe that most people knew what this 2 hour crapfest was going to be all about - they just didn't know how crappy it was going to be.

If you didn't know about it, you didn't know about it, but I wouldn't say "tricked" was the right word to describe what went on last night. I believe it was more meant to be a feeler show, and from the looks of things, no one's feeling it.
