^ so so, lots of steals, but now its back and forth, which favors UT a lot. They are basically pressing the entire time, which Pearl usually does, so its a lot of high risk, high reward type play. Not shooting jumpers well at all, even Lofton, but we are driving in on them at will which is suprising

fun stat...UT is the only SEC team since expansion in 1992 to never make it past the quarterfinals of the SEC tournament

also I don't know how this will affect UT's seeding...yeah LSU isn't a great team, but they have some decent wins and it's not like they got blown out...it'll drop them a little but they will still get seeded somewhere around the middle IMO...do you know what their RPI is?

Their RPI was 5 last week, dropped to 7 this week before last night, predicted to be 11 now




and yeah, they ALWAYS suck in the SEC tourny and I dont think it will affect anything seeding wise. Even if they had won the stinking thing I think they would have been a 4 at the most, but probably a 5 which is where they will probably end up anyways. Mayyyyybe a 6

And the last few years its pretty much been the underdog in the series who wins aside from last year. They beat us in the SEC championship game in 2001 with their fucking starting QB AND RB out (Rohan Davey, Toefield) to keep us from the National Championship game but then we somehow beat them when we were horrible two years ago down at LSU, even with all the "First game after Katrina" emotions and shit

no but seriously, it's a pretty good draw for UT to get through a little ways, but I do think it entirely depends on how singletary and reynolds play....if they play like they did against us, UT will win, but I would expect it to be a guard shootout in that game with maybe a little bit of an edge to UT with the bigs down low...hate to say it, but I'll probably have to pick them through to the sweet 16

keys to tennessee success in the tourney:
1. unless lofton returns to early season form it looks like we'll be one and done... again
2. chism needs to stop jacking that ho from beyond the arc, i mean jeeeeheesus he's one of the only players we have with any size. in the SEC tourney loss to to lsu he was 0-5 on threes. this wasnt just a one time thing, he consistently shoots and misses threes. pearl needs to put a stop to that shit.
3. bradshaw will have to continue being the baddest warrior of a bball player in the NCAA...kellen winslow jr. was talking about this kid.
4. jajuan is going to have to continue to look for his shots, just not shots from 30 feet away. go to the corners, thats been his shot since he was in middle school in McMinn County.
5. solid benchplay from childress and tabb etc. we especially need childress to play BIG.
6. pearl just has be the crazy/genius sob he is.

hahah, its so funny that you mention Chism, SchndlrsFist and I ALWAYS say the same thing, the fucker will shoot from anywhere, anytime. He had calmed down a lot from earlier in the year but he did it again vs. LSU. I assume its a by-product of being "the man" on his HS team and now that hes on a team with other players just as good or better he hasnt totally adjusted.

I think Jajuan is a big key, he's probably the best guy on the team when it comes to pure talent (excluding the Freshmen) but just hasnt totally put things together yet. I think Bradshaw will play his balls off and Lofton will be steady as usual

gotta disagree on jujuan...i used to live in McMinn County TN, and used to play with/against him at the Y, and saw him jack up more shots than you can imagine at MCHS. as someone thats seen him play over that period of time(7 years now) i can tell you it's more his work ethic than just natural talent. he busted ass to get to his current skill level.

UVA may not even beat Albany, remember this is the team that was a 16 and had UConn beat last year with about 10 minutes to go and blew it. They are legit.

Plus UVA sucks in the postseason, always has, always will. UT in Sweet Sixteen.
