The play calling has got better. Stone was never given 60 attempts to throw the ball. Never. All they would call were 3 step drop passes. Evans is given the green light, and the kitchen sink and still fails at putting pts on the board. Fact.

but its not an even comparison, not even close. stone had one of the nation's best defensive lines playing with him. he also played two games in which andre brown ran for over 150 yards.

it was still the WHOLE DEFENSE, not marcus stone, which held teams to point score of: 17, 15, 30, 3, 14, 0 (13.167 average) during stone's 5-1 record last year. During those 6 starts, we scored: 21, 20, 10, 24, 20, 14 (average of 18.167).

this year, during evans' six starts, they've allowed 15,20,25,26,14,31 (21.83 average). during his 6 starts, we've scored 17, 24, 23, 20, 7, 23 (average of 19).

so now tell me stone wasn't helped out by a more impressive defense.

First off, thanks JayMCnasty for pointing out NCSU had 21 rushing attempts. Key stat - 2.8 yds an attempt, a point you neglected to address. When you can't get better than 3-4 yds an attempt you are forced to throw in order to pick first downs. That was the reason behind throwing so much. The only decent runs were setup by the pass.


Oh and let me fix this quote for you:

I never praised the coaching staff. I only supported them. You guys just don't want to face the facts that Evans is not winning games for us. Our offense has only scored 1 td in the last two games. We NEVER score in the first quarter no more. This wasn't so under stone. Fact.

- Attempting to kick a 49 yard field goal on 4th and 5

- 2nd and 15 = Run up the middle which didn't work all night

You can't give up on the run game. And you can't let your opponent know you're giving up on the run game. In your case, you think we should pass it (which has chances of going incomplete) and then we're in 3rd and long and we now HAVE to pass it.

This is Evans fault. There are deep routes even on screen passes. It is up to his discretion to choose whom he wants to throw the ball to. And the recievers have to run their routes pass the 1st down marker. You can use the same out patter, just run it deeper. Fact.

What evidence? Oh, the fact that we've lost more games under Evans! I am fair and balanced and I see things how they are, not how I want to see them. Get over yourself.

Stone has more turnovers and less yds/comp. But part of that could be bad play calling. At the end of the day, regardless of that we won games. Bowl game. Teams respected his running ability and that left a plethora of things open. Teams don't even respect Evans at all. They just line up in basic 4-3 zone and make him be a Qb. They also manage to stop our run out of this now (4-3 pass zone) so our offense is dead. Dead as Elvis.
